Welcome Kerrie - nice to meet you.

Yes its really cozy, make yourself comfy :)

Feel free to browse through our threads and join in the chatting
With author book promotions we like to have them all in one spot so please create your own thread in the Author spotlight section https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... (in the top right hand corner you will see "new topic" click on it and you can promote your stuff to your hearts content - LOL)

Nice to catch up with you here, Jenni. Glad you joined us.

I’ve always been a reader and used to read until all hours of the morning but now I’m lucky to read two or three pages and I get sleepy! Sometimes I wake up with the light still on and the book on the floor; I’m sure some could relate to that!
I love mysteries, thrillers, autobiographies and biographies.

Welcome to the group Lainie. Yes I do relate to your waking up with the light on and the book on the floor. It's very easy to do!!!
Welcome Lainie, it's great to have you with us:) Enjoy browsing the threads - we have a lot of fun chatting about books here!

Suzanne invited me to join the group so here I am. My mom says I talked before I walked, but that once I started reading, there was less of both because I was always curled up with a book. I used to drive my dad insane because I would read four books at a time and leave them all over the house (yes, even the bathroom). I look forward to getting to know everyone.

(I think you are our 2nd Ace ;)

Welcome Ace. Glad you joined us.

You do that - you'll be welcome.
Do you want to change your name to Ace of Hearts as you suggested? so we know which Ace we are talking to? I agree about diamonds - so cold and just an ex lump of coal :)

Ah ha! A few of us have met too, have a look at the photos thread. It's nice as we all get to see, and vicariously get to experience.

this ain't much of an intro, but I never meant it to be.
Anyhoo, my name's Ben and I live in central Victoria. I joined the group because I'm involved in a very small book club wherein I'm the solitary member. And, well, talking to yourself doesn't make for very stimulating conversation

I currently have about 700 books in the house waiting for me to read them... and yet still can't resist buying more from charity bookshops such as the Lion's, St. Vinnies, the Salvos etc.
I think I will have to either make a deal with 'the man (or woman) upstairs to be able to take my books with me to the next life as I have too many to read in this one! *grins*
The saddest quote I ever read re books was one on an Oxfam website that stated 'if we read one book a week from the age of 5 until the age of 70, we read 3,380 books... nowhere near enough!!
I am currently reading 'Little Women of Baghlan' by Sue Fox, which I was very fortunate to win a copy of on this site.
Thank you Sue
