Hi everyone :) I'm actually on the far side of the world, in Washington State in the U.S. I'm always interested in reading material that is initially published in other countries because I feel like it challenges me and exposes me to new ideas, and often some unique cultural tidbits. Like sandshoes. Is that one word or two? I had never even heard of them until I read The Midnight Dress. I love learning these little things that are a part of everyday life in another culture. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to reading along with you guys.

Hi, my name is Holly and I just joined the group about a minute ago. I'm an Australian reader and am in highschool. I love reading and spend my recess and lunch times sitting alone reading.

My goal this year is to read at least 70 books, which might not seem like a lot to some people but I get really busy with school assignments and sometimes don't get to read much at home. I'd love to join book discussions or just chat about books.

Also if you could, for a school assignment I need to collect data on people's favourite genres so if anyone could please just post it below and put my name near it so I know.
