Introduce yourselves!

Name's Em. Moved from Russia to Australia 1.5 years ago with my hubz. Listening to an audiobook while knitting somewhere quiet and nice (in a park, on a beach, etc.) is my favourite pastime. I'm still quite overwhelmed by racial diversity here, all people are so beautiful and friendly! Guess, we're gonna stay for good (:
Reading has always been a HUGE part of my life (kiddie readers with a searchlight under a blanket, raise yor hand). Thank you for sharing your insights, guys and girls! This group is an invaluable resource, even though I can't possibly hope to assimilate this whole cultural background, you're providing a solid starting point (:

I love YA Fantasy books, and I'm a fangirl, big time. I also love the Disney movie Frozen!
I have quite a few fictional boyfriends, AND THEY ARE ALL MINE!!!
I can't think of anything else to say...

G'day Em. Welcome to the group. I'd love to learn to knit, but not much use for woollies here in the tropics :)

Welcome to you too Berh :)

I joined the Reading Challenge group this year to help motivate myself to get back into reading. Have been a reader all my life, but found I would get distracted by modern devices, wandering around on the Internet, or playing moves in word games etc. So I committed to 25 books this year and have read four and I am really enjoying being a reader again.
I joined this group to get an Australian perspective.
I have three kids, with only the youngest still at school. I love music, playing the piano, running, handcrafts, digital art, and footy.

I love most genres particularly crime and mystery thrillers but recently I have fallen in love with the outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I really enjoy any series of books when I enjoy the writers style and characters. I love watching the characters grow and it feels they become friends.
Feel free to add me as a friend, would love to talk more with other people with the same love of books as I have.

Welcome Florencia, great to have you with us:) We have a few members from the west, it's a beautiful part of Australia for sure.

I try and keep a look out for new authors. Have read all of Kerry Greenwood's novels and those of the new author Rebecca James (though her target group is young adults - I still loved reading her novels and also enjoyed meeting her).
So looking for some new authors....
Haven't written any reviews yet but might think about that in the future.....
Cheers Sharon
Welcome Sharon great to have you with us:) We have some recommendation threads, some up and coming new release threads and of course the discussion threads where people talk about what they're reading and recommending:)

Welcome to the group Sharon :)

My name's Julia Legian (aka Loan Thi Nguyen). I was born in 1972, South Vietnam. Or was it 1971? Nobody really knows so I prefer to err on the young side.
I'm happy to be part of this grooup. I'm not a professional writer, just an ordinary person with an extraordianry story I'd like to share with the world :)
Have a wonderful day to all!!
Julia
Hi, my name is Ceyrone Juan Antonio Abdulkayder Akkawi, but everyone calls me Ak. I live in Sydney and I am a high school teacher and I teach English, I also tutor primary kids for the selective school test. Currently I'm doing post graduate study to become a journalist, my passion has always been to write.
I am avid reader, and am prone to read anything that tickles my fancy, not one to let society dictate what I should read because of my gender. I devour anything by Paulo Coelho, Jose Saramago, Ursula le Gwinn and 'persuasion' by Jane Austen is one of my favorite novels.
I am an adventurer, explorer, a traveller and an everyday seeker of hedonism. I write, draw and paint in my spare time, which is not enough, but it's something.
