You know the Appendix at the end of the book? Well, from it, I learned some weird facts.
Aragorn dies at the age of 210. On his birthday.
Sam becomes mayor 7 times, possibly more.
Merry and Pippin live to be about 102 years old, and are last seen riding off across Rohan, never to be heard from again.
Legolas and Gimli sail to the Grey Havens when Aragorn dies.
There's a lot more. This is just what happens to the Fellowship.

Yeah, it was very useful, cause I've always wondered what happened to them. So the first time I just didn't read the Appendix and then the second time I did, I'm glad I did.
