Harry Potter is special to me because it was the first great series i read. At first, I really dislike reading books...thinking it was a waste of time...But when i read Harry Potter, I was all of a sudden a book-lover :D
The funny thing about these is when goblet of fire came out I was given the set of the first four books (this was around when the first movie came out) and I only started reading them about a year and a half ago. I was one of those people who think how on earth can a book be better than a movie. I am so glad I still don't think that! Compared to the books the movies are a tiny amount of the story in the books.
I didn't actually start reading the Harry Potter series until "The Prisoner of Azkaban" came out in theaters. It was my favorite of the movies and i figured that I would give the books a try. I was shocked at just how much was being left out of the films. There are so many underlying plotlines about relationships, house elves, and character development that makes the books so much deeper and more intense than the movies can do. J. K. Rowling really did an amazing job in creating this fantasy world and making it believable.

First grade was a breeze after I read the first four HP books!
I'm not joking. I was six years old and read the first four books in seven months.
lol six?!! wow. you remind me of my classmate. She's 6 when she read the first book and she kept asking her older sister "What will happen? What will happen?" She said she's even praying to God to kill Snape, saying he's so bad to Harry. haha
