message 5: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I'm currently stockpiling my books and trying not to read that many of them so that on Sunday I have a nice selection to choose from :)

Stephanie (akamonkee) | 46 comments I have to figure out which ones I want to tackle on Sunday. Woohoo, I'm excited!

Jess | 3721 comments I think I'm going to alternate genres, I don't want to get burned out reading too many similar books!!

I'm excited too Steph :)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments You guys have some great books!

message 18: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I can't wait to start. I'm a little annoyed that tomorrow I have to go run out to CVS to pick up a prescription, which will cut into my reading time. But I might as well go and get myself something to eat so I don't have to cook and waste more time :)

message 19: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Lol, do you have one of your books on audio too? If so, listen to the audio while you are going to the store!

message 20: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments OMG where does the time go?? So I am very glad I have an excuse to sit on my bum tomorrow morning and read :-) Here are the remaining books for this challenge.

To finish Embrace the Night (Cassandra Palmer, #3) by Karen Chance
To read Eternal Kiss of Darkness (Night Huntress World, #2) by Jeaniene Frost Tracking the Tempest (Jane True, #2) by Nicole Peeler Hard Magic (Paranormal Scene Investigations, #1) by Laura Anne Gilman Magic Lost, Trouble Found (Raine Benares, #1) by Lisa Shearin

message 21: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments Good morning everyone! I'm going to get started. I did read for 7 hours yesterday as planned. I only finished 195 pages. I'm a slow reader I guess. Lets see what I can do today. I'm not normally a morning person so this morning is probably going to be the hardest part.
I'm still working on "Water Bound" and I'm 72% completed.

message 22: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Good Morning!
I am up, had coffee and now it is time to read.
Not sure what I want to start, toss up between
Tracking the Tempest (Jane True, #2) by Nicole Peeler and Eternal Kiss of Darkness (Night Huntress World, #2) by Jeaniene Frost
When I check in around 8:30 I will let you all know.

message 23: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments I checking in. I'm still working on Water Bound. It feels like it will never end. Its a long book but its good.

message 24: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments Good morning!! I got up a little later than expected I had a baby shower yesterday.

Anyway, my first book is: All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins followed by Jealousy (Strange Angels, #3) by Lilith Saintcrow

I'll check in sometime later. Hope everyone is having fun so far!!

message 25: by Betelgeuze (last edited Aug 22, 2010 05:15AM) (new)

Betelgeuze | 158 comments I've finished:

Wraith (Zoe Martinique, #1) by Phaedra Weldon and am now reading Betrayal in Death (In Death, #12) by J.D. Robb

message 26: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments How is everybody doing? Are we all still awake? lol
I'm STILL reading Water Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #1) by Christine Feehan but I only have one chapter to go. I'm not reading very fast. In the past 3 hours I only read 103 pages. *hangs head in shame*

message 27: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I just finished my first book and am now onto my second book. But I have to run out to CVS really quick, so I'm going to do that fast now and then run back home so I can continue on with my books :)

Danielle that's a really long book so don't feel that bad!

message 28: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I don't know if anyone else did it, but I created a Readathon shelf here on GR to keep track of all the books I read and also I'm not going to review any until tomorrow so I have more time to read.

message 29: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I decided to read To Challenge A Dragon (Dragon Kin, #1) by Shelly Laurenston since it is due tomorrow.
It was cute and fast read.

Going to make breakfast.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments Good Morning everyone ;-). I will be starting the morning with an audio book while doing some chores....I actually started this one yesterday A Caress of Twilight (Meredith Gentry, #2) by Laurell K. Hamilton and got about 1/2 way through. I will check in when I am done with the horses and have made my morning Starbucks run ;-)

message 31: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments Yay! I finished my first book and like Jess I'm going to wait until tomorrow to review them. I'm taking a break to eat. Then I will be starting Crushing Desire by April Dawn .

Glad to hear this was good, I like Laurenston's books!

Jess | 3721 comments I finished Jealousy (Strange Angels, #3) by Lilith Saintcrow , it was a nice follow up but left off on a cliffhanger. It's an interesting storyline and reminds me of Crow's adult books.

Next up: Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins and then Winner Takes All (2-in-1) by Nora Roberts

I am glad to hear Jealousy is good, but not good on the cliff hanger. I have that one here at the house right now. I will probably get to it by Tuesday.

Yeah you can sort of guess at what's going to happen based on the title of the book lol. But it was great to see it all play out. And we learn a little bit more about Christophe in this book.

message 36: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I am just about done for the day. Time to get dressed for a wedding.

I ended up reading
To Challenge A Dragon (Dragon Kin, #1) by Shelly Laurenston
Ilona Andrews short story from Dark and Stormy Knights by P.N. Elrod which was a good one it is nice to see Kate at the beginning! I want to read the one from Carrie Vaughn about Cormac.
I read 5 chapters in Eternal Kiss of Darkness (Night Huntress World, #2) by Jeaniene Frost .

My totals are 5 hours reading time.
Since I am reading ebooks my pages are a little off so will post them at the end.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day!

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments Dawn - I loved the short about Kate in DSK....

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments I am about 3 hours into the second part of A Caress of Twilight (Meredith Gentry, #2) by Laurell K. Hamilton (audible breaks up the books into two parts). I have read all the books but the most current one which is why I have started listening to them...it has been a couple of years since I read the last one and I wanted to listen to them before reading Divine Misdemeanors...in listening I realize I had forgotten a lot....

message 39: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments Have Fun Dawn!

I'm checking in again. I'm 5 chapter into Crushing Desire. I've been having to take little breaks to stretch. But I'm having lots of fun:) There is no better way to spend your whole day Sunday.

I created a collection on my Kindle to track the books I was reading...

Jess | 3721 comments Dawn - so glad you had fun!! Enjoy the wedding!

Danielle - I agree, there is no better way to spend a Sunday :)

Nichole - that's a good idea to do it that way!

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments Checking in again....I have about an hour left on the audio for A Caress of Twilight but setting it aside right now to startGabriel's Ghost....not originally in my books to read but I need something other then PNR/UF at the moment

message 43: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments Hi everyone :) How are we holding up? I am loving Crushing Desire by April Dawn and its a nice change from all the PNR and UF books I have been reading lately. Well, I guess I'll get back to it.

message 44: by Jess (last edited Aug 22, 2010 01:03PM) (new)

Jess | 3721 comments Just checking in again. I finished Winner Takes All (2-in-1) by Nora Roberts , which had two of Robert's older books. Both were cute. And I also finished Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins which I really loved! Yeah, it did remind me of other YA pnr books, but it definitely had something different about it.

Up next: The Awakening (Darkest Powers, #2) by Kelley Armstrong

I've been reading for about 8 hours and finished 4 books so far. Not too bad! I don't know how late I will end up staying up though.

message 45: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I'm finding myself getting fidgety while reading on my bed, I think I'm going to relocate myself to the living room.

Nichole - let us know how you like Gabriel's Ghost, I tried that a few months ago and wasn't a big fan of it.

Danielle - I know what you mean about reading too many books in the same genre. After I read The Awakening I think I will switch to another genre.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments Jess wrote: "I'm finding myself getting fidgety while reading on my bed, I think I'm going to relocate myself to the living room."

I found this was a problem for me too.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments I am 23% finished with Gabriel's Ghost...so far so good...I am going to read a bit more then take a break and listen to the audio book for a bit so I can stretch my legs.....the readathon is showing my how uncomfortable my recliners is after longer periods of time......

message 48: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments Jess, I was just thinking about switching locations. I'm getting stiff.

message 49: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments Yeah I kept flip flopping from my back to laying on my stomach. Not the greatest positions!! I moved to the couch and it's much better! I'm taking a break to eat right now and surf GR. I just finished The Awakening (Darkest Powers, #2) by Kelley Armstrong . LOVED IT! I can't wait to get the next one :) Derek is my new YA love lol.

message 50: by Betelgeuze (new)

Betelgeuze | 158 comments I've mangaged to read 3 out of four books:

Wraith (Zoe Martinique, #1) by Phaedra Weldon Betrayal in Death (In Death, #12) by J.D. Robb Stardoc (Stardoc, #1) by S.L. Viehl

My eyes have started to dry out, and i've suffered from blurry vision during the last hour or so. But it was a lot of fun. Before this my record was 2.5 books in one day.

Stardoc was my favourite read today. I also enjoyed betrayal in death. I liked Wraith not as much because i found the protagonist somewhat immature for someone in her late twenties.

I am now going to bed. I wish you all happy reading.
