Ari Pérez (elcastillo) | 36 comments Hi there, so I was now very interested in doing some bigger help with the site adding some comicbooks, but I was wonder (and maybe you've already talked about it), if comics (alone, separately) count as a book? I mean, I know there are volumes of comics or compilations, but there is really a chance that the plain issue can be added here? I read a lot of comics, so I guess it's fair to ask because they count as something you read, right? I know magazines don't count here, but comicbooks? They don't have ISBN, but other kind of code, so is that a problem here?

Thanks.

Please do NOT add individually published comics or magazines. Collections, bound and published with an ISBN, are fine.

Ari Pérez (elcastillo) | 36 comments Ok thanks. I wasn't going to post some magazine haha it was just an example. And thanks for teling me. So, to be clear, just collections with ISBN. Roger that.

Thanks

By the way, I've seen some individual comics around here, what do we do with them, for example:

They get combined with their corresponding collection (to preserve reviews) and deleted.

My point was that comic books fall in the same category as magazines -- non-books.

The "Not a Book" has this re comics: *under "These are books:

single-issue magazines and comic books on an individual and unencouraged basis, although they should be typed as "periodical" in the work: media type field

Maybe it needs to be made less ambiguous. An unencouraged basis, but still under the section, These are Books. Somewhat contradictory/confusing to others, such as Aladygma.
