Rebecca | 4 comments Terry Pratchett has a second author, Terri Pratchett, with his books duplicated in a foreign language. I think it is Russian or Polish. The authors need to be merged and the books combined. I am not sure of how to combine authors with different names listed, and don't know enough Russian to combine the books. Thank you so much for your help.

willaful I'm guessing this was a translation issue, since the Russian alphabet doesn't correspond to ours. I'll do the changes.

willaful Authors combined, will work on the books now.

message 4: by willaful (new)

willaful Okay, I've done as much as I can. Many of the books were beyond the reach of Google and Google Translator, though. I can't even pin down the language for sure -- I've gotten Czech, Slavik, Polish.

message 6: by willaful (new)

willaful Not trying to change the names, just trying to figure out which books they are so they can be appropriately combined with the other editions.

message 8: by willaful (new)

willaful Thanks for the suggestion. Haven't found translations so far, but the language has been pinned down to Russian.

message 9: by willaful (new)

willaful Oh, I take that back! I hadn't looked far enough - they do have the English titles. Awesome!

In case you don't know where to look, if the original title is included, it's usually in the Details section almost at the bottom in the field "Other Titles".

willaful Okay, almost done. There are quite a few that were beyond worldcat though, or beyond my ability to use worldcat. They don't seem to have an ISBN search.

All right, I think I eradicated the remaining "Terri Pratchett" or "Pratchett Terri" Russian books, and updated their info as appropriate. There are still some questionable Russian translations that might need work, but the majority should be fixed now.

Natalie (nkmeyers) | 40 comments Should the Original Title of Color of Magic be entered as "Colour of Magic" instead of Color of Magic ? That was the title on the 1st edition which was published in the UK?

I would say so, yes.

Natalie (nkmeyers) | 40 comments BTW if anyone who was working on this before knows what the default desription for the first title:The Color of Magic was supposed to read before it was changed on Jan 04, 2011 02:21am (#6250559) to foreign language text, please feel free to replace the English language default description I substituted by copying the description text from Colin Smyth (publisher)'s website entries for the title's editions!
