V. (velax1) | 26 comments Hey,

I've got a batch of books needing some attention once again. Let me know is something is unclear and I'll try to clarify the problem I think is there!

------------------------------
1.
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...

The description is that of some English edition and does not say anything about what the book is really about. I could not find a proper English description, so best just delete the old one (I guess a German one would not help much ...)

2.
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/84...

is a German edition of

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...

3.
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24...

The first publication date of the book is 1923 not 1961, see e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aelita_%...

4.
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/14...

This is just the first book of the series, the other editions are all collections. It should be an edition of

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...

5.
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

That's the same author

The setting is definitely wrong. (The setting of the actual novel is never named, but it would have been something in Europe/Czeck Republic/Germany. I would recommend to leave the setting empty.)

Besides, two different books are mixed up here:

The Trial (Der Prozeß) is not the same as (In) The Penal Colony (Die Strafkolonie) (See e.g. Wikipedia, the very plot is different though the books are related topic-wise and were written by the author almost at the same time)

The description does not explain what the book is above, but is that of some edition for studying German.

willaful Removed the incorrect setting.

I think I just read in another thread that it's actually desired to have the information in the language of the book. Let me see if I can verify that.

Those descriptions look like a standard description for the series; Amazon does that a lot.

willaful Re. #2 above - the two have already been combined.

Yeah, I got Kip's book.

I also got the two Andrewses.

willaful I found this in the new librarian thread: "The synopsis only needs to be in the language of the edtion, so a Serbian synopsis for the Serbian translation, etc. If you want to add additional synopsis information in other languages, that's okay too, as long as it's clear which language the edition is in. If you can't find (or write) a synopsis in the language of the edition, you can put one in in a different language, but please note in the synopsis which language the edition uses in that case.

It's a good idea to enter the primary language for the edition, too. That field isn't yet visible on the main page, but it will be very soon! "

V. (velax1) | 26 comments Thank you all for the help so far!

@willaful:

The German synopsis (taken from this amazon page http://www.amazon.de/Biedermann-die-B...) for #1 is:

It's not edition specific, so one could add it to all the German editions.

V. (velax1) | 26 comments Hey!

What about #6? It would be really nice if somebody could untangle the two different books that are listed as editions of the same one there. I can't since I'm not a librarian ...

Cheers,
pax

Okay, the ones I could identify using a simple text search are now located here.

Are the one above the same as The Penal Colony?

Melody (runningtune) | 13300 comments I think I got them all. Take a look and let me know if you see any I missed.

Melody (runningtune) | 13300 comments vicki_girl, we must have been working on them at the same time. Yes - those two clumps should be combined. I'll let you do it.
