Judith (jloucks) | 1202 comments "Done" for me also, Kristel. I requested it from you on bookmooch this morning.

Thanks!

Judith (jloucks) | 1202 comments I just posted a nice hardback copy of Siri Hustvedt's "What I Loved" on PaperBackSwap.com. If anyone would like me to post it for them on bookmooch, let me know and I also reserve it for you.

Judith, I would mooch the book from you at either site. There are several copies available at PBS so not sure which one is yours as we are not friends over there. If you want to post at bookmooch and reserve for me, that would be great.

Judith (jloucks) | 1202 comments Kristel, let's become friends on PBS. I have trouble finding books I want to read on bookmooch all too often! I'll send you an email from the site.

Cheers!
Judith

message 157: by Elise (new)

Elise (elise327) Okay, I'm going to be adding the following books to PBS today:
Spring Flowers, Spring Frost: A Novel
S. (aka As if I am not There)
The Master
The New York Trilogy
Justine
The Death of Artemio Cruz
Measuring the World: A Novel

Friend me on PBS (elise327) and let me know what books you're interested in, and I'll be happy to reserve them for you!

message 158: by Elise (new)

Elise (elise327) Also posting:
Felicia's Journey

message 159: by Elise (new)

Elise (elise327) Wait a second... can a more experienced PaperBack Swapper let me know if it is even possible to reserve books for people in the system? I'm beginning to think BookMooch has a superior system.

message 160: by Anthony (new)

Anthony DeCastro | 168 comments I don't know the answer to your PBS question, but if you'd be so kind as to reserve New York Trilogy for me on BookMooch I would love to have it. We're already friends...I am tonyd31 (Tony D USA:SC)

message 161: by Elise (new)

Elise (elise327) Also posting The postman always rings twice on BookMooch--I've decided I'm sticking with BookMooch, just in case you guys care. Down with PBS! Up with BookMooch!

Elise, I would be interested in The Master, The New York Trilogy, measuring the World, Justine, well maybe all but would prefer Bookmooch as I have more points there. I can do two over at PBS. Let me know.

If the book has no copies in the system,
-the receiver needs to add that specific ISBN to his Wish List
-the poster can post it directly to that specific person's WL

If the book has no Wish List,
-the poster just posts it to her shelf
-the recipient can request the book off that person's shelf, provided he knows her PBS ID and can thus browse her shelf.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks! That does kind of make sense, but what if there are other people in the system who have already put the book in their Wish List? I tried to reserve Measuring the World for Judith, but as soon as I put it in the system it was reserved for someone else.

ETA: I am sending a friend request on PBS.

You have to be on Judith's page (WL) in order to post it directly to her. If you go through the book's "profile" page it would go to whoever is first in the queue.

Judith (jloucks) | 1202 comments I have a trade copy of "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez to trade. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Anthony DeCastro | 168 comments I also have a copy of Postman Always Rings Twice by James M. Cain that I can post on BookMooch if anyone is interested.

message 170: by Kristel (new)

Kristel (kristelh) I am going to post The Death of Artemio Cruz on Bookmooch. It is already posted to Paperbackswap. If anyone wants it hurry on over.

Alas, Sophie, I live in the U.S. and cannot join the book swap group you are a member of because I do not reside in the UK. Also, I usually restrict my swaps to within the U.S. in order to stay within my book budget. If I see a title that is really hard to find in the U.S., I'll make an exception though, so please keep posting what you have to offer from "the lists"!

message 172: by Judith (new)

Judith (jloucks) | 1202 comments I can post a good trade paperback copy of Woolf's "To The Lighthouse" if anyone in the U.S. is interested. I already have it posted to paperbackswap.com and can put it on bookmooch.com as well if requested to do so.

message 173: by [deleted user] (new)

Just added a lot of 1001 books to the Goodreads swap if anyone is interested

message 174: by Kristel (new)

Kristel (kristelh) I added Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel to Paperbackswap and Bookmooch.

message 175: by Aiden (new)

Aiden (read_more) | 1 comments I've tried bookmooch and was never very impressed with it, could never find the book I was looking for. There's a pretty cool app on facebook called "The Library" that does the same thing that almost always has the book I want. It's pretty new though so its far from perfect. Can't find the URL atm. :/

message 176: by Sophia (new)

Sophia | 26 comments I recently added Middlesex and The Maltese Falcon to the Goodreads Bookswap.

message 177: by Judith (new)

Judith (jloucks) | 1202 comments I have some points on bookmooch.com I'd love to use to get a title from the combined 1001 lists I haven't read.
Anybody have a book they haven't yet posted there but are willing to?

Thanks!

message 178: by Laura (new)

Laura | 67 comments Judith, please take a look into my Inventory, I just added a few more books.

message 179: by Judith (new)

Judith (jloucks) | 1202 comments Looking for something on the 1001 List that I don't already have (I have read over 400 so far).

Anyone within the U.S. have anything to post and trade on bookmooch.com?

message 180: by April (new)

April | 24 comments Hi Judith! I'm about halfnway through Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie . When I'm finished I would love to swap for another 1001 book.

message 181: by April (new)

April | 24 comments Oooooo......I also have Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood which I could mail anytime.

message 182: by Judith (new)

Judith (jloucks) | 1202 comments Thanks, April, but I have both of those. Haven't read Cat's Eye yet though. Is it good?

message 183: by Olympia (new)

Olympia (oly366) | 10 comments I belong to paperbackswap it's. A great place to swap books.

message 184: by April (new)

April | 24 comments Judith wrote: "Thanks, April, but I have both of those. Haven't read Cat's Eye yet though. Is it good?"

Sure. Yes, I enjoyed Cat's Eye. I think I gave it 4 stars. My mom read it and she gave it 5 stars. I really like Atwood. Not as good as A Handmaid's Tale, but good.

Judith (jloucks) | 1202 comments Olympia wrote: "I belong to paperbackswap it's. A great place to swap books."

Olympia, I am a member there, too. I like it better than bookmooch because I can purchase points when I see a book I'm looking for there and don't have any points from trades to use. Do you have some of the 1001 List books posted there?
