One of the few classic books I like is Hamlet, I've read it multiple times in various forms, my favourite being the manga: Hamlet by Adam Sexton
I used to only read classics, E S Nesbit, Anne of Green Gables etc. Until I basically had no classics left to read... So I branched out into modern =)
Well stuff like Jane Eyre nommed by brain too, but I loved Anne of Green Gables and stuff... Except the first page, it was kinda stupid:
Mrs. Rachel Lynde lived just where the Avonlea main road dipped down into a little hollow, fringed with alders and ladies' eardrops and traversed by a brook that had its source away back in the woods of the old Cuthbert place; it was reputed to be an intricate, headlong brook in its earlier course through those woods, with dark secrets of pool and cascade; but by the time it reached Lynde's Hollow it was a quiet, well-conducted little stream, for not even a brook could run past Mrs. Rachel Lynde's door without due regard for decency and decorum; it probably was conscious that Mrs. Rachel was sitting at her window, keeping a sharp eye on everything that passed, from brooks and children up, and that if she noticed anything odd or out of place she would never rest until she had ferreted out the whys and wherefores thereof.
I had no idea what it was meant to be saying...

I loved the Anne of Green Gables series... until the last two books. I just couldn't continue reading. ;)
Hmm... I did with Jane Eyre... I was just like, "THIS IS SO FREAKING BORING! BUT I'VE ALREADY READ 700 BLOODY PAGES!"
You know whats the most pointless waste of time ever? Things fall apart by Chinua Achebe. Never have I wanted to murder all the characters like I wanted it for that book.
Herro, I'm RedPath.I'm a teeny bit insane, but you would be too after you've read all of Stephenie Meyer's descriptions for "Gold eyes."
REDPATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I borrowed the 1st one off a friend and I read it in English class, so I guess I didn't waste TOO much.
I FREAKING BOUGHT THE ENTIRE SERIES! MAN I REGRET IT! I COULD'VE BOUGHT..... THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY!?!?!?!?!
I would suggest selling them but I doubt you'd get much for the crap. Sorry Miss but you were seriously ripped off.
yeah you really where ripped off.... To make it better you should burn them that will give some of the entertainment that they are "meant" to give (you should also make a video and share it with us :) )
Honestly in sixth grade my friend tried to make me read the books, I read the first few pages and said I thought it was stupid. Then when the movie came out she somewhat forced me to come along(much to the disdain of another friend because I apparently didn't deserve to go because I never read the books). Anyway, I'll saddly admit that for some time I was slightly obsesed with them after my sister got them for Christmas and was forced(sorta) to share them with me. Luckily I'm better now and have seen the light.
Phew. It's ok, Ama, you've been cleansed. I use the library-like I always do. I never buy a book unless I absolutley positivley know that I could never ever never ever hate the book(s).

And why do you say my sister is smart? because she's intelligent enough to highlight a piece of text??
