Courtney K (cklueh) I've read Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith and loved it. It is full of dark humor and alternate reality. Loved the characters, setting, everything! At the time, I didn't know it was a series. I picked up Eternal b/c I thought I liked the author. I couldn't get into it. Then, I find out it is the second book in the Tantalize series. Can someone help me out about how they are related? I don't mind a spoiler. I read the summary on GR and I still don't see a connection. What am I missing? TIA.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 127 comments You know how Kelly Armstrong and Malissa Marr as well as some other authors like Holly Black have books that are related but do not carry the same characters they are just set in the same world? same thing. The Characters live in the same world but they arnt the same characters. Alot of people dont like these type of books because they get use to the first characters and want to stay with them longer. But I think if its done well it can be interesting like Kelley Armstrongs Woman of The Otherworld or Darkest Powers books.

Courtney K (cklueh) I guess I was more invested in the characters rather than the world in this one. I liked the Wicked Lovely series after the first book. The other characters appealed to me more than Aislinn. I also love Fire and Graceling. I actually read Fire first. Those books also have similar characters, or overlapping characters. But Eternal doesn't have that?

lol i didnt have time to finish the book but its the same world and time just different characters and different situation. I think there will be another in the series Idk if this will allow the characters to cross paths or it will be more characters in the same world she has created.

Courtney K (cklueh) Well, I may have to suffer through it, then. LOL. Or I could just read the third one cold and only understand the parts with the characters from Tantalize.

Teresa (teresainohio) I enjoyed both books, dont see a connection. I consider them to be stand alone books.
