Stranded on an island........

Books that take a while to read and I know I wont get bored of. Probably a Harry Potter box set, my large every-book-in-series Narnia volume, and Gone With The Wind. You know, the classics.
Jenn, I also go back and forth between wanting books that are one day reads and wanting one book that takes all week!
Same here. Which is the beauty of my choices! Narnia and the first few HPs are day reads, and the later HPs and GWTW take a little longer!
Man I'm about to go on a trip to mainland Japan for 2 weeks and am in the same boat...what books do I pack?! But as for your question, Andrea, I would have to say my favorite book: The Bestseller by Olivia Goldsmith, and then any by Anne Rivers Siddons. I could read her work over and over and never get sick of them (and have!)
I would also have to go with the HP series. Beyond that, I think I'd like to have some books that I haven't yet read, but by authors that I know I enjoy. Stranded on an island would be a great opportunity to knock down the TBR list, no? ;)
Can I cheat and say "My Nook"? ;p No? well then I would have to say I would take my HP books. I'm assuming this is a 'vacation' type of stranded and not a 'life-or-death' type (like those family reunions you never want to go to because the 'other' side of the family is weird, lol). If my tropical island vacation turns out to be bad enough that I'm turning to my emergency books, I want my comfort reads!
Anna Karenina, a Sherlock Holmes anthology, a Bible, a Bible commentary (preferably a very thick one with tiny print) a Charles Dickens anthology, and a volume my mom has called "An American Omnibus". That would do nicely for starters . . .
I can't even imagine what I would take....I would need a trunk. Seriously. :-)My bible, a bible commentary (thanks Kay for that idea), HP, Narnia, Anne of Green Gables, The Blue Castle, Jane of Lantern Hill, The Cheney Duvall, M.D. series, and then a TON of new stuff that I haven't gotten the chance to read yet. And a REALLY nice comfy chair!! :-)
Any chance we could have cute men serving us umbrella drinks while we read??? ;-)

I second the waiter with frozen drinks, I'll take a chocolate kiss!
As far what Catherine said I agree, I couldn't live without books either!
