I used to be a 2d animator, and worked at several animation studios including disney.
but ever since hand drawn 2d animation has gone down, I found myself to be enjoying illustrations a lot more than trying to move on to 3d animation or doing story boards. so i finally found a publisher who wanted to work with me, and our ebook just got released on itunes recently. but i felt the need of finding group of people who are in the same business to gather information and advices, reviews. so I started searching for the group and stumbled in here, and everyone seems so friendly here..so i decided to join!

Its nice to meet all of you and I hope to make awesome connections and author buddies here! Happy drawing!

I'm trying to enter the children's book author world. I have published one book so far, but I'm working on my next one. My website is www.kathleenivanchildrensauthor.com
I would still like reviews for my first book, A PinkBoat Adventure by Kathleen Ivan.

I am a freelance illustrator from India.
I do offer illustration services at affordable price.

I'm excited to join this group and be a part of the conversations about kidlit!

I'm an artist at heart, but I've been away from it for a while.
I've got several children's stories running around my head, hoping to illustrate them one day, even if it's just for me.

I am an illustrator specialising in children's books.
I can provide references from authors I have worked for.

MY first children's book is under publication and am super excited about it....by Duckbill publications.. I am also a short story writer and have a lot of my stories published in Chicken Soup series..
Am from India..

My name is Tsvetomir and I'm an illustrator, but I wrote a tiny little book for kids... and it was awesome, so I think it won't be the last :)

I'm interested but I've not found a place that wants to discuss the field of children's books. Apparently what you get is what you see here. It's the best I've found, but it really doesn't address the needs I have to be a better author, critic, sharer.

My work is quite unique and when I pitched the idea of the book series along with my manuscripts to agents, I was told the idea is too small of a niche. Well, I'm happy to say that I'm proving those agents wrong as the books are selling very well and picking up serious momentum. The kids love them, which is the ultimate test! Anyways, I'm looking forward to sharing information on marketing strategies, distribution, school readings, etc. I'm also interested in sharing other great children's books with fans of my books. If anyone wishes to check out one of my books, my first book is being offered for free on iTunes until Dec. 14th. Here is the link: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/book/x-ta...

Thats so original and beautiful! !

My work has gone from Literary Fiction to Thrillers and now settled in with the Young Readers genre. It is my dream to teach children a lesson through the craft of storytelling and to make sure people keep on respecting their elders. I hope to meet some aspiring authors to discuss literature and to learn more about the art. Much obliged for the time you took to read this, I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Nice to meet you, Tracy. I think it's absolutely wonderful that you focus on aviation for children because it is a truly unique topic. If you need any marketing work done with the use of professional video editing software please don't hesitate to ask. After looking through your Self-Published works I see how much work you put into each project and would love to lend you a hand.

Hi,
My name is Wanda Wyont. Recently, I retired from education. I have a passion for early literacy and stories inside my heart to share. I wrote a children's book, Sunbeam, in 2005. With little time and a publisher that did not market my book, I only sold copies to a local audience. My second book, Barkley's Great Escape, was released a few weeks ago. It is about a loveable dog named Barkley that wanders into a neighbor's pool. After enjoying the initial dip into the pool, he could not find the steps to get back out of the water. This story opens up discussion about water safety. I am proud of the illustrations and the quality of the book. Drowning is the number one injury-related accident for young children. Hopefully, parents and teachers will use the story as resource.
I would appreciate anything that my fellow group members could do to help me with some exposure. I will in turn do the same for your books.
Wanda

I know that your book will do well. It sounds like you know your audience and their needs. What is the title?

My name is Hannah and I am a freelance illustrator specialising in book and comic illustration. I've illustrated 2 children's books recently, and have been drawing a manga-inspired comic book series called 'Age of Revolution' for a micro-publisher called Cosmic Anvil for about a year now.
I am a Fine Art and Creative Writing graduate (First Class Hons), so words and pictures are my bread and butter - and the more unconventional the better! I also love to have a closely collaborative relationship with those I work with to ensure that their vision is represented as close to what they see in their head as possible.
I am currently working on a project at the moment but looking for work beyond that, so if you're an author looking for an illustrator please take a look at my portfolio: http://houseofzinthos.com.
I'm new to Goodreads, so look forward to meeting more of the members and getting some tips and advice from you all - it seems like a fantastic community for those involved in the industry and for book fans in general!

I'm an illustrator working on my first children's book. Just thought I'd drop in to gain some insight from others doing the same.

Would also love to meet more authors/illustrators who have made illustrated books for adults? By this I mean illustrated text as opposed to graphic novels. We're a rare and unconventional breed it seems!

I am a new member and would like to provide a brief introduction sharing my volunteer projects helping the school children of Fiji with donated books from Australia and all over the world. In 2012, 2013 & 2015 I created projects assisting the school children of Fiji with donated books to replenished their school libraries in remote areas of Fiji. The motivation for the projects are to provide the opportunity to help improve literacy skills and learning with the gift of donated books. Most of the Fiji Schools are located in remote areas of Fiji. As far as Rotuma a tiny remote island that has 3 primary schools.
since 2012 we have successfully donated books to over 75 Fiji Schools.

My son has a 55,000 word self-illustrated middle grade novel that I am about to start final copy editing.
My talents don't extent to fiction writing or illustrating, but adult non-fiction where I have self-published.
However I take a very keen interest in anything that helps writers and illustrators develop their careers.
Our local children's book writers and illustrators group (what a mouthful!) has a website, www.cbhuncc.weebly.com . Each week on that website's blog I feature the best career development articles that have come my way. Last week it was a great example of how to blog as an illustrator and an article about how to add humour to your writing.
The group's Twitter handle is @CBHunCC
There I tweet the Best Of The Week, as well as re-tweeting anything useful.
If you have found a great article, or written one, let me know, and if it can help writers and illustrators, I will happily share it.
I have an author profile on Goodreads, and would welcome anyone from the group as a friend.
My latest e-book is 'Children's Books: Getting to the next level as writers and illustrators', priced at $0.99 U.S. or equivalent in the hope that it might be able to help as many people as possible have a gentler learning curve when it comes to children's publishing.

I'm an IT guy turning into an illustrator. I self-published my first children's eBook on Kindle Direct Publishing at the urging of my wife who studied Children's Lit. http://goo.gl/pxH6CO is the link. I dedicated it to my new nephew! Someone somewhere already reviewed it too. (ack!)
I'm looking to network and make friends and get to know a lot more about ... everything. My wife hangs out here a looooot and so I'm dipping my toe in it. Thank you :)
(dip)

I self published my first book too.
My book is about computer literacy for children.
The title is The Case of the Missing Byte
Looking forward for your comments

I also created a website for the book.
If anyone needs help in doing your website, I will share the process with you.

I illustrated/wrote then self published my book WOOD CAKE in March this year.
Now I'm going about trying to figure out the best way to market it! Any help would be appreciated. See more of my stuff on my site.
A little background: for 20 years I illustrated, designed and animated computer games and web games, built a virtual world for kids and made apps. I co owned 2 companies (one was making apps and one was the virtual world). Last year I gave all that up to concentrate on illustrating and telling stories with pictures.

I am Kanika. My daughter is 2 and 1/2 years old. I started writing some books to entertain her. She seemed to really enjoy them so I published them free at smashwords.https://www.smashwords.com/profile/vi...
