Kelley Anne | 1619 comments For me personally, Feehan is a pretty new author for me to read. Every time that I went to any store, including every grocery store, one of her newer books, Wild Fire, kept catching my eye. So about a month or so ago, I finally decided to give her a shot. I flew through the Leopard People series, wishing that there were ten more already released! Then I started in on the Ghostwalker series. I just finished Murder Game earlier today, so I'm sure that at the very least I'll read Street Game this month. I also downloaded the audio book for the first Drake Sisters book, so that will probably be the next of her series that I race though! As for her Dark Series, I have to admit that the list of books already out does scare me just a bit! I have so many books already on my TBR pile that I'll never get around to them if I get started on this series!

Levi Jenkins (levi-jade) | 7 comments I love Christine Feehan! I have read the Drake sisters series and loved it ... also I agree with you Kelley about the amount of books in the Dark series but I have been reading one every now and again to slowly get through it ... started awhile back and and still going ... but it is worth it :D ... I haven't tried the other series' so I think this month I will try the Leopard series :)

message 5: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 58 comments I love CF. I have several in my TBR. I can probably fit one in this month. If I can get to my books during the move and unpacking.

message 6: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments I've read Christine Feehan's Drake Sisters series and the Ghostwalker series and loved them all. I started reading the Carpathian series first and fell in love so I read the first 17 books almost one after the other and I ended up getting burnt out and haven't read anymore in a very long time so I'm going to read Dark Curse (Carpathians, #19) by Christine Feehan .

message 7: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I'm going to try to read the next book in the Carpathian's series. I forgot where I am though, I need to go look it up.

message 8: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments I think I've got a copy of Wild Rain somewhere. I'll try that.

message 9: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments If my library cooperates I will read her newest book in the new series a spin off of the Drake Sisters, Water Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #1) by Christine Feehan .

message 10: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I really like her books. Sometimes the dialogue is a little drama(tic) but I enjoy them. I do have to take breaks between her books though.

message 11: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 40 comments I just recently bought Wild Fire Wild Fire (Leopard People, #4) by Christine Feehan so, although I have some others I haven't read yet, I will go with this one.

message 12: by Patricia (new)

Patricia (catnaping) | 415 comments Well I have read every book except her Ghostwalker series and Water Bound by Christine Feehan I think I will try it.

message 13: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 147 comments Okay. I'm in. I read Dark Prince and "Dark Hunger" in an anthology and liked them. I have Dark Secret in the TBR pile, so I'll read that.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments I just started the Ghostwalker Series...read the first one last month so will read Mind Game (GhostWalkers, #2) by Christine Feehan and will hopefully get through this series by the end of the Month....

message 15: by Chrissy315 (new)

Chrissy315 Jones | 17 comments I'll try the 1st one in the Drake sisters series Magic in the wind.

message 16: by Jayded (new)

Jayded I have read all of her Dark series, not so keen on the others for some reason. My DTB library is in disaray and I don't have any of hers on Kindle, but if I can find it I will read Dark Desire which has always been my favorite.

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 437 comments Well, I've read and loved almost all of her Ghostwalker books (was unsure about the hero of Murder Game and had to put Street Game down after 100 pages, because I didn't think I was ever going to like that hero either). I've got a few of the Dark books, but I found them to be only okay. Males too overbearing, women too wimpy for my liking. I recently picked up a couple of her Drake Sisters books though, so maybe I'll give one of those a go this month.

The males are definitely overbearing. Many of the women are not wimpy though, especially in her later books, she actually has some female hunters now. But they are definitely not for everyone.

message 19: by Literary Ames (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 237 comments I've only read one of her books before, Dark Demon. I know it's like #16 in the series but I was unaware of that at the time. Oh and the woman wasn't wimpy, she was a hunter of some kind. Anyway, I liked it but was a bit too daunted when I realised the series was so long.

I did try to read Shadow Game the other day, got a few pages in but wasn't in the right mood so I put it down. I'll try again in the next few days.

message 20: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Shadow Game took me a bit to really get into it. By far I think that it's the weakest book in the series, but still good enough that it made me want to keep reading the series!

message 21: by Literary Ames (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 237 comments That's good to know, Kelley Anne. Thanks!

message 22: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments I'm going to have to try another book. I started Wild Rain and didn't like it at all. I'll try either Shadow Game or Twilight Before Christmas next. I'm a little wary of Ms. Feehan after trying two now and not liking either. :(

message 23: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I'm reading Water Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #1) by Christine Feehan which is a new series but is linked to the Drake Sisters series.

Shadow Game is probably the worst book out of the Ghostwalkers series. So if you don't like that one, at least try the second!!

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments Jess wrote: "I'm reading Water Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #1) by Christine Feehan which is a new series but is linked to the Drake Sisters series."

Make sure to let us know how that one is.

message 26: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments I decided to read Water Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #1) by Christine Feehan instead of Dark Curse.

message 27: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I enjoyed it, it was written in a very similar format as the Drake sisters. I really loved loved loved Lev, the main male character. He was such a bad-ass but had such a soft spot for the female lead Rikki. she was an interesting character because she has a few.. differences. I won't say too much because it'll ruin part of the story. I liked their chemistry together, they were pretty hot.

message 28: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments Looks like this author is a fail for me. I'm going to have to start skimming Shadow Game, or maybe just read the last chapter to see what happens. It's not the worst thing I've read, but everything is so ridiculously melodramatic. I'm just not enjoying it. I might try another in the series, since you guys have said Shadow Game is a weak start, but I'm not going to rush out to find one.

I've tried 3 of her books, and I have only finished one (and that was the Magic in the Wind short novella!) Feehan just isn't for me, I guess. But I'm glad I tried. :)

message 29: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments You can't say that you didn't try Sarah!

message 30: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments That's what I like about this group; we get recommendations for new authors all the time. Some we like, and some we don't.

message 31: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments I know what you mean. I will try anything.

message 32: by Literary Ames (last edited Aug 21, 2010 04:12PM) (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 237 comments Sarah, I understand what you mean about Shadow Game being melodramatic but I made it through it. Once I got past the first 20 pages it got easier. The plot was good but the romance was a bit over the top.

message 33: by Jess (last edited Aug 21, 2010 04:42PM) (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I really didn't like Shadow Game, something about it just rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe Feehan received feedback because the other books weren't like that at all.

But like you said Sarah, we get recommendations all the time and some we like and some we don't like. As long as you gave it a try, which you definitely did. She just isn't the right author for you then.

message 34: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments **spoiler for Shadow Game**

LOL, guys! When I got 90+ pages in and realized that the hero was still in a cage and the only real contact between the couple was dream-walker sex, I lost my dang mind. I was willing to buy the pemise--which is a pretty cool plot--but I just couldn't hack it.

I'm looking forward to trying again next month with a new author. There have been so many good picks in this group, and it's fun seeing what's up next!

message 35: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Sarah - I'm glad that you gave her a shot! Not every author is for everybody! There are several extrememly popular authors that I just can't get into. I've tried several times but the just don't work for me. You certainly gave it a great try!

message 36: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments Finished Water Bound (Sisters of the Heart, #1) by Christine Feehan and I liked it but I've read a lot of her books and it just seemed very similar if you know what I mean. I was expecting a new series and this book is just an addition to the Drake Sisters.

lol I told you!! It was really not good. But the second book kicked it into gear and didn't suck.

She did say it was a spin off series, but I know what you mean. She is a very formulaic writer. Many of her books are similar.

message 39: by Sandra J (last edited Aug 25, 2010 12:48PM) (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 147 comments I enjoyed Dark Secret which followed the novella "Dark Hunger." There were an awful lot of similarities to Dark Prince. I liked these well enough. I will probably pick up another one eventually. I don't feel any need to read the entire series.
