Debbi | 9 comments Hello all -- does anyone know the name of a long thick novel (probably about 600+ pgs) about the reign of Henry VIII, told through the eyes of his court "fool"? This writer wrote a few other books in this vein, too; one I think was about Mary, Queen of Scots, and one was about (I think) someone Egyptian. Thanks for any help!! -- Deb

Deb | 48 comments Hello, there have been at least two books I know of about Will Somers, jester to Henry VIII. An older and shorter one is by Margaret Campbell Barnes, King's Fool. But, I think the one you are thinking of is The Autobiography of Henry VIII: With Notes by His Fool, Will Somers (1986). She also wrote
Mary Queen of Scotland and the Isles (1992)
The Memoirs of Cleopatra (1997)
Mary Called Magdalene (2002)
Helen of Troy (2006)
