Thanks, haha, my mom decided i had to be different(:

Heather wrote: "Ohhh, OK, I got it: It (spiders/clowns), psychos - Freddy, Jason, Jason's Mom, Norman Bates!! Was I close?"Ive never seen IT though i want to, i had a nightmare about jason the other night, so i suppose so
My all time FAVORITE horror movie would probably have to be A Nightmare on Elm Street
Lauren wrote: "That would be why I've never heard of See's... :((( What is itexactly?"A very delish chocolate/sweets shop. My faves are the Summertimes. *happy shiver*

Lauren, play your cards right and maybe in the near future you might just get a box of See's..Jane, welcome and curious, why do you miss your useless bf if he is useless?? King is a good author and I loved Dragon's Eyes (think that is the correct title) the most, followed by The Stand. Why unsure about your movements last night?
Ashlea, oh man, yeah, Nightmare is one of the best. Had a dream about Freddy a few years ago and I told him to go f*** off! He just looked at me and then left.

I am in SD BUT, we get a kiosk at Christmas but otherwise I buy them by the dozen when we are in Minneapolis or order online (they don't have the bars online though)! They are simply perfection! hahaha!
I love so many 70's shows.....I am watching the first season of "The Bionic Woman" right now! Charlies Angels, Brady Bunch, Family....these are the ones that come to the top of my head! Lots of the old cartoons...Bugaloo's, Puff n Stuff, Sigmund and the Sea Monster's (big Sid and Marty fan)...The Sony and Cher show, Dean Martin Comedy Hour(LOVE this and him)! I could go on and on....you?
I'm going to go look at your profile, bet we have some books in common also! Ha, if we both like Bordeaux Bars and 70's shows...there has to be more!

I love gLee! I stopped watching OTH because I wasn't feeling it w/o Lucas and Peyton. Welcome to the group :)

Jane, forgive me for asking but why do you miss your 'useless boyfriend'?
Kris, bet you a bordeaux bar that we have a lot in common! Saw all those shows and thank you for making me feel old.. LOL!Jane, gotch ya! OK, well you have some sisters here that will give tough love..
Thanks girls-he's away all the time and I don't hear from him much-lots of faith required and sometimes I don't have enough :0(
Jane, then have faith in your friends, especially ones that carry rubber mallets. BTW, did you know that rubber mallets won't leave a mark ... heh-heh..
Let's see 10 things about me....1.) I used to ride horses at the international level. I had a Swedish Warmblood named Severn who I bought as a rehab. He was abused by his owner/trainer and was basically unrideable. I fixed him with some Good Boys and Cookies and ended up competing on him successfully through Intermediare I in dressage, schooling Grand Prix. I miss my Severn....
2.) I have 9 cats. Yes... they all live inside. Never anticipated having that many. It just happened! I did cat rescue for a few years and there were some cats that just didn't want to leave (or couldn't leave)
3.) I am owned by a brown Standard Poodle. Which is kind of funny since I always hated poodles growing up. I never thought of them as "real dogs". When I decided to get a dog three years ago, I did my research and all roads led to Poodle!
4.) I stitch as a hobby... embroidery with silk threads on linen mostly. I've been doing it for years.
5.) I am scared of the dark. Seriously. Goes for ghosts too. I can't even watch scary previews on TV.
6.) In my head I'm still in my 20's. On my body though... another issue... NOT in my 20's!
7.) I can do basic electrical stuff in the house like replace ceiling fans!
8.) I don't have any kids other that the furry variety (I won't say 4 legged because one of my cats only has 2!) BUT I do have a brandy-new nephew. His name is Jackson Tyler and he was born on Oct 12. He's going to be VERY spoiled by his auntie!
9.) I don't like Science Fiction. Snooze... just can't get into it.
10.) I'm working at earning my Master Black Belt in Six Sigma by the end of the year. Not karate.
LOL! You can like sci-fi! Funny though... I love the old Star Wars films. The new 3, not so much. I think it's more that I'm not really into futuristic sci-fi. I read a J.D. Robb book not realizing that it takes place a couple of decades from now and I couldn't get into it really. Freaky science fiction like some of Stephen King or Dean Koontz I can get into and really enjoy. Maybe I just don't like droids? Yeah, I think that's it. I don't like droids.
I'm getting into space operas. Especially smutty ones. I usually prefer fantasy, but sci-fi has been showing up more and more on my to-read shelves these days.
9 cats. I just sneezed thinking about it! Lol. I am allergic and would most certainly drop dead if I stuck a toe in your front door. :)
Stacy,Congrats on the nephew. I am one of those crazy people who misses having a baby around. My youngest is 6.
1. I grew up on a 100 acre farm. I know how to milk a cow, can food, collect eggs without getting pecked, stack a hay mow so it doesn't fall, feed bottles to several calves at once (there's a trick, believe me), pitch manure, saddle and ride a horse and I drove a tractor long before I drove a car.2. I know my way around an automobile. I can change a tire, change the oil or even replace parts such as an alternator or radiator if needed. Mechanics find out pretty quick they can't BS me into expensive and unnecessary repairs just because I'm a petite, blond woman.
3. I love chocolate-covered cherries. Really really love them.
4. I hate coffee and anything that tastes like coffee.
5. I love the internet. I do a ton of research on the internet and love having all that information just a few clicks away.
6. My hair grows very fast. Every three years or so I cut it off and donate it.
7. We gave up satellite almost two years ago and don't miss it. We bought a new tv this summer and can now watch local stations with a digital tuner, but usually only watch football.
8. I love 80s rock.
9. I was married with a child before I was a Sr. in high school (age 17). I graduated with my class even though I was also working full-time and taking care of my husband and baby (who was 11 weeks premature).
10. I delivered the newspaper for 10 years. I had three small children (actually when I started I only had one small child, the other two came later) and went to college full-time as well as did work study, had older children, a house to manage and a 2nd shift husband who was also going to college full-time. I lived on 4 hours (or less) of sleep a night for almost 10 yrs. Thank goodness I get 8 hrs now.
Oh shit Carol! I never swear like that here but damn woman, I will watch out for you! Welcome and enjoy the lunacy around here. Well, more it since you had it in spades. Also, good for you..Stacy, woo-hoo! Another cat lover! Now, here is your mission, go scare Sashana with all those cats! Heh-heh..
LOL Heather. Am I scary, that you need to watch out for me? I'm easy to get along with and I love lunacy, but not Lucy. Jeez, I hate that show. What a twit!
@Carol- I would love to live on a lot of land, but I am not sure about all the animals. Usually I only get along with dogs. Every thing else either wreaks havoc on my allergies or simply does not like me...lol. All I can say is WOW to your busy life. I am 23, a college student who works part time and has no children, with a boyfriend who lives with me and I am doomed the next day if I do not get at least 7 hrs of sleep!
Rachel wrote: "9 cats. I just sneezed thinking about it! Lol. I am allergic and would most certainly drop dead if I stuck a toe in your front door. :)"lol!
Carol, LOL, heh-heh, yeah was never a fan of Lucy and from what I heard she wasn't the nicest person either. Scared of you, meaning that you are one tough MF, kinda like my Mom. She was a single parent and raised me all on her own. Piss her off and watch out!Rachel, the one thing you got going for yourself is that you are still young! Keep a hold of it because when you are start to get old, it will hit you like a ton of bricks..
@Rachel - Allergies might not bother you with other animals. My oldest brother has allergies, asthma and hay fever, but the only time he had problems was hay season, when it was time to bale. I also agree with Heather...you're young yet, so I'll tell you what I told my son: Work a job you love (or at least like) even if it pays crap otherwise you'll be miserable and I'm not going to listen to you whine, eat right, exercise, drink plenty of water, get enough sleep and save for retirement. That way, everything else is gravy.@Heather - It's a mom thing. Lioness, that's what we are. We bring down the wildebeest and feed the family without any help. lol
I can promise all of that except the eat right/exercise part. I seem to have trouble with that and unfortunately that happens to be one of the most important things on that list and any other. I have started trying to though and it is soooo hard!
Carol, did you know that in a pride, it is the lioness that feeds the cubs right? Well, they will feed each other's cubs with their milk. So there might be a Mom that has a vitamin that the other Mom doesn't have. Love that..Rachel, we all want to be older but we forgot to be young. You can never forget that. Live young and feel young but please oh please, dress your age! No one wants to see someone who has no business in a micro mini!! LOL! Which I will see, at work, on New Year's Eve since we all have to work.
Lmao. Working on New Year's Eve with coworkers in micro minis. That is defintely "pouring salt in the wound" if I ever heard of it! I definitely dress my age and my size. And always will!
Ah man! I think we need to rename the group to Nothing but Cat Lovers. All in favor *pause for votes*Welcome to the group, Carol. You know I’m always accusing people of having superpowers and I definitely think your super power is awesomeness.
@Rachel - Actually, my doctor told me that the proper amount of sleep and plenty of water are the two essentials. He said you can be a bit lax with the others, but if you make those two items top of the list it would be easier to do the others. He chastised me at every physical about my amount of sleep, but knew there wasn't anything I could do about it.@Heather - I knew the lioness did the feeding, but didn't know about the group milking. That reminds me of a story I read about a guy whose wife died shortly after childbirth and their friends set up a breast feeding club for his child knowing it had been her wish to breast feed their child. I think there were 6 or more mothers who regularly fed his child and expressed their milk, so he could feed the baby at night. What a great gift!
@Sashana - Uh, I'm not a cat lover (outside cats are fine), so my vote is 'No'. Sorry! I hope that doesn't negate my super power which I thank you for, btw! I've always wanted one! Though x-ray vision around hot guys would be nice. ;)
Carol wrote: "@Rachel - Actually, my doctor told me that the proper amount of sleep and plenty of water are the two essentials. And I don’t think you're hubby would appreciate that super power :D
What he doesn't know won't hurt him. Although...the drool and glazed look in my eyes might give me away. lol
Sashana! You know where my vote is going! CATS RULE!Carol, Carol, Carol, where did I go wrong?? Well, I'll forgive you ... for now. What a great story about the Mom who passed and the Dad who fulfilled her dream, very sweet. Speaking of cats, the picture I use was Elvis my beloved. I put him to sleep going on 6 yrs..
Rachel, it will be the very, very, very drunk hoochie mamas that will be in the micro minis! I tried to take pictures but the glare was too much. I might try again, without the flash.
@Heather Where do you work? My guess is a bar or other social venue. If I know I am going to get very, very drunk a skirt is a no no as is heels!
I work security at The Embarcadero Center in SF; been there 9 years last month. Everyone has to work no matter, even if it is your day off which it is for me. But don't cry too hard now Rachel Dear, I will get paid time and a half for 7 hrs and then double time and a half for about 3 hours and then for New Year's Day (which I am off) it will be straight 8 hrs. Not too bad and the first year I worked there I used the extra money to get a tattoo!
@Heather - I didn't say I hated cats! I don't mind outside cats. I had plenty of those growing up. They kept the mice and rats out of the corn crib and the feed bags. Well, with help from our mini schnauzer, but she just killed them. At least the cats ate them, leaving no evidence on our doorstep. lol
Heather wrote: "Sashana! You know where my vote is going! CATS RULE!Ditto! Except for the vomit thing. They like to vomit everywhere and often. Other than that... love 'em totally.
Stacy wrote: "Heather wrote: "Sashana! You know where my vote is going! CATS RULE!Ditto! Except for the vomit thing. They like to vomit everywhere and often. Other than that... love 'em totally."
Lol, Stacy did you just say that? "Except for the vomit," oy!
Carol, OK, you are redeemed ... Sashana, on the other hand..At least Mathilda doesn't vomit all that often. Twice she has tried on my bed, while I was sleeping but I quickly moved her off. Poor thing..
My cat vomits a lot... we will have to put her to sleep soon because it's just getting worse and worse. :( Poor Ginger
Oh Lauren! What is making her vomit? Have you thought about giving her herbs? That might help her stomach. How old is she?
I think both Mr. Darcys are great. I lean to Colin Firth because he was also Bridget Jones' Mr. Darcy. however if you want real bland please watch the 1940 pride and Prejudice. It was the first Jane Austen movie I saw. I liked it but it was made in the 1940s.
Heather wrote: "Oh Lauren! What is making her vomit? Have you thought about giving her herbs? That might help her stomach. How old is she?"We don't really know what's making her vomit. She is old. Our friends didn't really want her and she seemed sweet, so we took her in about six years ago. She was old when we got her. I think her time is up :((
