I daydream a lot, too. A lot. But after having a discussion about daydreaming with some friends, I think this is somewhat normal. I read some study about daydreaming, though, that said you are most unhappy when you are daydreaming.

I would love to learn to crochet. My sister tried to teach me to knit several years ago and it was pathetic. My hands tend to be shaky and unbalanced.

Laura (lglovett) | 1444 comments I have never done this and I have been a member of the group for a year now. Here it goes:

1. I am a 6th grade Science teacher in Texas. Its a bit crazy at times, but I love my job. I spend a lot of time looking for cool labs to do with my kids that go along with our curriculum.

2. I am addicted to Uncle John's Bathroom Readers. I have read almost every single one more than once.

3. I have lived in three major cities of Texas: Houston, Austin, San Antonio. I loved different things about each one.

4. I can't stand bacon or macaroni and cheese. People think I am demented because of this.

5. I am a coffee fanatic. I love coffee flavored things as well as drinking coffee.

message 457: by Sashana (new)

Sashana Laura, I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor from your #4. Are you even human, woman?! lol. Why don't you like bacon or mac and cheese? Traumatic event?

My bff visited Houston during the Thanksgiving break and she loved it! She's planning to move there by the time she's 25.

I just saw this! Stupid GR notifications. I bet you're a good teacher. Also, I don't really like bacon either. Or coffee. :( I love mac & cheese, though! Sadly, I just found out that I've got Celiac Disease and will have to eat gluten-free for the rest of my life. No more Kraft Macaroni & Cheese! I'm sure there's some good gluten-free stuff out there, though.

I need to look up these Uncle John's Bathroom Readers...

message 459: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) | 1444 comments I just don't like the taste of bacon and have never liked Macaroni and cheese because most people make it with velveeta. I have velveeta. If they don't make it with velveeta, then it is normally to dry and not creamy enough. I have given up on finding Macaroni and Cheese that I actually like.

I currently live about 45 minutes north of Houston and I like being able to go into town but still live somewhat out in the country.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Laura, I'm with Mary, I just got this notification. Weird, as I also click the "unread" option on the Home Page.

Anywayz...

#1 - LOVED science when I was a kid. Guess that is why I became a nurse.

#2. I've read a couple of the Uncle John Bathroom Readers. I have them in the book rack in my guest bath. LOL!

#3. I was born in Texas, but I was only there long enough to change a few diapers.

#4. Love bacon (however, I've gone vegan since September), but NOT M&C. **whispers: Don't tell Sashana!** However, I've heard this one on Food Network is great: Three Cheese Mac & Cheese.

#5 - LOVE coffee, but I try to stay away from it. Used to eat coffee ice cream most every night; however, like I said, I've gone vegan. Still, I've been making vegan espresso cookies for Christmas. Yum. Of course, they taste best when dunked in coffee. LOL!

message 461: by Sashana (new)

Sashana Mac and cheese is like the ultimate comfort food. I've only ever had bad Mac and cheese once in my life. You ladies break my heart lol.

Zumba sounds really fun! I've heard good things about it. I LOVE Food Network and used to watch it all the time back when I had cable. I would love to take cooking classes too. I like to cook and bake, but there's a lot I don't know.

message 464: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments I love Food Network, too. And I'm a good cook. However, I'm sure I'm better at watching cooking shows than cooking. LOL!

I've thought of trying Zumba, Monica. Maybe I should try it...once. ☺

message 465: by JC (new)

JC (jmnc) | 93 comments I LOVE Zumba!! It helped me lose 30 pounds and get back into exercising in a fun atmosphere. I've taken classes from 3 different instructors over the last 2 years and all are very different in terms of style, intensity, music selection, etc. Our town holds a Zumbathon in Oct. to raise $$ for cancer research and all local instructors are there so we really get to see them all and maybe find one that works for us. I really encourage anyone interested to give it a try!!

I have lived in Texas all my life. I have visited many places but no state is like Texas. (forgive me my bias)

I think I might just try that mac and cheese. I have heard its better when you add sour cream. I might have to try it.

@ Mary

I am sorry you have to go gluten free. My pastor has the same problem. He has a hard time because there are so many foods that he loves with gluten in it.

I've been okay with it so far. For Christmas I got lots of gluten-free chocolate snacks and baked goods. :-) I do miss bread, cake, etc., but it hasn't been terrible so far.

message 469: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) | 1444 comments I will ask my gluten free friend for some recipes for you. I know they have found a few breads in the stores too that they think are just as good as non gluten free breads.

Really? That would be great! Thank you! Most of the bread I've tried has been really crumbly. I have had some amazing gluten-free blueberry muffins, though.

#5 - Me too. Funny thing is, I grew up in Africa where the creepy crawlies were much, much worse. They didn't bother me when I was little, but they bother me now!
