I read Ink Exchange first in that series (not knowing Wicked Lovely was the first book in the series haha) but I didn't like Aislynn either when I did eventually pick up the first book. Those books are boring except Ink Echange. I loved Niall and Irial in that book, can't say I liked the rest of them though. :/

I'm reading The Modern Faerie Tale Books (Tithe, Valiant and Ironside) but I'm struggling through them 'cause the MC kinda sucks. LMFAO

Yeah Aislinn is really hard to read about, but I'm finding it's not so much her character as it is the writing style. Like I've finished Wicked Lovely, and am still confused on a whole lot of things. I get that it's a series and therefore not all needs to be revelaed. But for it to be a completed novel, we should at least have more of a sense of the structure of things - such as the courts, and the faery world.
Other things that had me miffed were the revelation of Aislinn's mother being chosen before her - I mean when they brushed over it in Aislinn's house, there were just a few lines said about it and then nothing. No mention of it later or any further details. It was just so lacking. I would have liked full explanations.
Same goes for how Donia could just get up and become the Winter Queen after everything happened. Like, there wasn't any explanation of how that was possible. There was no build up to the changing process. In fact, the Queen was killing her, breathing her cold into her to kill her, and then all of a sudden that's the reason she can become the new queen? Because she's carrying the cold? Then why did the others die that Beira did that too?
See, too many questions and not enough information. The writing style was erratic and jumpy, and conclusions scarce.
But I have the entire series out so I just started Ink Exchange. Not expecting much fromt his one lol!

damn, I can't even remember much about that series to be honest. I think because I read Ink Exchange first, I thought Wicked Lovely would explain heaps about how Leslie and Niall are introduced, and then I find out Aislinn is actually the main character, and then I got confused from there LOL
Oh yeah, I felt the same way with her writing style, and I think I vaguely remember the deal with the winter queen. I think I put down this series a lot when I read them, so I have a hard time remembering it. Nothing really stuck to me, except the character Niall. I think he had this distinct scar across his face is why I remember him. Other than that, yeah this series has completely flown out of my mind. LOL

I picked up the Strange Angels series by Lili St. Crow from the library. I'm reading the first one right now.

Oh I liked that book. Wait until you get to the next book, that was my favorite.

We're all major suck heads here so I think some of you will really get a kick out of my published debut with Vamplit Publishing, Swan Song.

It was written as a British gritty antidote to the sappy, weak-spined Twilight, so if you need vamps with a little more bite and sexuality, please check it out.
This is no mere plug for plug's sake. I plan to stick around on this very cool board.
So I beg the mod's indulgence with this cheeky post!
