Carolyn E | 239 comments Yes, I read The Wounded Heart: An Amish Quilt Novel, and I loved it. I can't wait until the next volume in this series, The Hidden Life: An Amish Quilt Novel, is published in June, 2012. The third volume, "The Tempted Soul," is scheduled to be published in the Fall of 2012.

Getting ready to start The Christmas Singing by Cindy Woodsmall tonight!

Hope I'm not too tired from working on my newsletter & preparing for a banquet to start.

I really enjoyed this! The town seemed to really come alive in this book, loved the setting. And isn't the cover so pretty?

Carolyn & Diane: looking forward to reading more of this book now! Sadly university work needs a bit more attention first.

message 410: by Mary (new)

Mary O'Brien (nickswifey) | 50 comments I have a question. All the books: Love finds you in...are they a series? do they go together? are they good?

message 411: by Carolyn E (new)

Carolyn E | 239 comments Mary: The "Love finds you in . . ." books are not a series. Each one has been written by a different author. I think there are now about 42 books in the series. They are published by Summerside Press. Summerside Press plans to publish at least one novel set in each of the 50 states. I have only read a couple of them, and I enjoyed them. I am hoping to read more of them sometime in the future.

message 412: by Mary (new)

Mary O'Brien (nickswifey) | 50 comments Thanks Carolyn! If anyone has The Waiting(Lancaster County Secrets#2) for kindle, I would love to borrow it! I am about to start reading The Shunning by Beverly Lewis=]

I just finished this book, Sarah, it's wonderful! :)

I'm starting my Christmas read! First up is Naomi's Gift: an Amish Christmas Story by Amy Clipston. I'm trying to read mainly Kindle books right now as I'm going home by bus to visit my family this weekend and need to take hardcover books to study with so I'll try to only read books off my Kindle to save space in my suitcase!

I'm reading A Log Cabin Christmas: 9 Nine Romances of American Pioneer Christmases. It feels like its taking me forever because there are nine stories in it. So far they have all been GREAT!

message 418: by Carolyn E (new)

Carolyn E | 239 comments An Amish Christmas by Patricia Davids is a wonderful story. It has been a while since I read it, so I think I will read it again. I highly recommend it.

message 421: by Carolyn E (new)

Carolyn E | 239 comments Mary: I just finished re-reading An Amish Christmas by Patricia Davids. Just as I remembered, it is a wonderful story, as are all of the other books in this series (Brides of Amish Country, from Harlequin/Steeple Hills's Love Inspired category).

message 422: by Mary (new)

Mary O'Brien (nickswifey) | 50 comments There is a series? If I read the Christmas one, am I reading out of order?

message 423: by Carolyn E (new)

Carolyn E | 239 comments Mary: No, the books are all stand-alone. An Amish Christmas is the third book in the series. The other books are:

Katie's Redemption - #1
The Doctor's Blessing - #2
An Amish Christmas - #3
The Farmer Next Door - #4
The Christmas Quilt - #5. This book is due to be released on November 19, 2011 (I think).

message 424: by Mary (new)

Mary O'Brien (nickswifey) | 50 comments So can I read them out of order and not get lost lol

message 425: by Carolyn E (new)

Carolyn E | 239 comments Right. You can read them in any order. Enjoy!!

message 426: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I have An Amish Christmas too! Looking forward to reading it soon :) Haven't read the rest in the series but they all look good.

I'm nearly finished Naomi's Gift: an Amish Christmas Story and really enjoying it!

Patricia Davids | 9 comments Mary wrote: "I was wondering if anyone has read: An Amish Christmas(Brides of Amish Country) by Patricia Davids"

I've read it, but maybe I cheated because I wrote it. Anyway, it's one of my favorite stories. I'm sure you'll like The Christmas Quilt, also by me. It will be out Dec 1st.

I'm trying to finish Rosanna of the Amish, but mostly I'm writing.

message 428: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Davids | 9 comments I've been mostly lurking here for the past few months. Many of you may know that my husband passed away this summer and getting back into "regular" life has been hard. I thought I'd come out of lurkdom to share a bit of good news I received this week. My book, The Farmer Next Door, has been nominated for The Reviewer's Choice Award by Romantic Times magazine. What an honor.

Barbara Ann, I'm eager to hear what people think of The Christmas Quilt. Two days ago it was #1 on Kindle in the Religious and Inspirational fiction so it seems to be selling well.

It's strange, but when I write a book I have no idea if it's a good story or not. Mostly, I just get tired of talking to the same two people for months. By the end of the book I'm ready to yell, "Just say you love her and get it over with already!"

Glad to hear that The Farmer Next Door has been nominated for The Reviewer's Choice Award. It is a great story, as are all of books in that series.

Incidentally, by mistake, I gave away my copy of Katie's Redemption and then tried to find another copy to replace it (I don't do e-books). I am hoping Amazon will come through; they claim they have it, or one of their contract suppliers has it.

message 436: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) Patricia, I heard about your husband passing this year. I'm so sorry for your loss!

I read An Amish Christmas last year during the holidays and I loved it! I have the other books, I even pre-ordered The Christmas Quilt, but I have not read them yet. I need to though! :)

Still reading A Log Cabin Christmas: 9 Nine Romances of American Pioneer Christmases I really love this book. I'm going to miss it! I started the second to last story this morning. You all are in for a treat it it gets picked for dec read. All the stories are short and sweet and I like that some different cultures were added into some stories. Some were predictable as to what would happen but that really did not make me like them any less.

Sarah (misscalico) | 128 comments About to start Indiana Cousins Trilogy as soon as I've finished The Firstborn Advantage... which is the first non-Amish book I've read in a while!

message 440: by Camille (new)

Camille (camlovesraptors) | 802 comments Now don't y'all be jealous, but I am currently engrossed in Real Estate Transfer, Finance, and Development. :p Sadly it will consume my life until after finals. :(

message 441: by Carolyn E (new)

Carolyn E | 239 comments Camille: Good luck with your finals!! It is that time of the year, isn't it? At the moment, I have two sons, a grandson, and a granddaughter in college--how time flies!! My one son is coming down the home stretch in law school. Of course, he still has to pass the bar exam, but he is getting close.

message 442: by Camille (new)

Camille (camlovesraptors) | 802 comments I'm in the same place as your son actually Carolyn. :) I'm finishing up my 3rd year of law school and will graduate with my J.D. in May. Granted then there is the bar exam which will consume my entire summer, but these things cannot really be helped! Where does he plan to take the bar?

message 443: by Paula-O (new)

Paula-O (kyflo130) | 119 comments Congratulations to Patricia, I saw that on one of the blogs I follow, so happy that you have some good news to cheer you, love to read your books.

message 444: by Carolyn E (new)

Carolyn E | 239 comments Camille: I am not sure where he will take the bar exam. He lives in Ohio, and I guess he too will be taking it next summer; he is also planning to graduate in May. I have forgotten now exactly how the bar exam works. (I have two other sons who are also lawyers--I don't like to think about how many years my oldest boy has been practicing--I can't be old enough to have a son that old.)

message 450: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (atimetolove) | 99 comments I'm so glad. I have loved writing the series.

I told everyone last week that I had an announcement: my publisher wants another Quilts of Lancaster story I can't wait to begin writing. The story will appear after my next series, Stitches in Time, set to release in the spring.
