Rachel Beside Still Waters (The Big Sky Series, #1) by Tricia Goyer 6/1/13
This was such an interesting novel. I liked the characters, and I like how Marianna's journey is both physical and spiritual. A well-written and unique Amish story. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more by this author.

Yes, Rachel. I really enjoyed that series by Tricia Goyer. The Montana setting is nice. The story line does not disappoint.

Melissa | 127 comments Just starting the Indiana Cousins trilogy by Brunstetter. I have the 3-in-1 book that was a bargain at HPBs for $6.99. I've made a couple of trips to IN Amish Country lately, so I've been wanting to read this one.

Rachel Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese 6/7/13
This is a truly interesting historical novel. It is written very well, and it is informative as well as entertaining. It does take some thought to keep track of the characters and plot lines, but it's well worth reading.

Natalie (creativecountry0407gmailcom) | 1130 comments @Diane: On your July , 2010, post you mentioned reading The Storekeeper's Daughter. Did you read the Brides of Lancaster County series first if they were available at the time? Just curious because I recently listened to The Storekeeper's Daughter and thought some of the characters didn't make sense.I looked at this a spin-off series,

Rachel A Season for Tending (Amish Vines and Orchids #1) by Cindy Woodsmall 6/10/13
This novel had a pretty slow start for me, but once I finally got into the story, I enjoyed it. The writing is good if a bit slower paced, and the characters are interesting. I'm not sure how I feel about the "premonitions" and "gut instincts" Rhoda experiences, but I do like how she likes to help people. Overall, a good read.

Rachel Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay 6/11/13
This was a fairly interesting novel that goes back and forth between 1942 and more-or-less present day. The parts dealing with the round-up of the Jews is depressing, but it's not graphic about anything, a fact that I appreciated. It was written fairly well, and it's emotionally grabbing, of course, but I didn't care too much for many of the characters although it was interesting to see the varying reactions and changes in the lives of the characters as they learned their connection to a very specific tragedy.

I was surprised myself when I found it in my local library. The series was geared towards young adults.

Carole Jarvis The Hope of Spring (Discovery #3) by Wanda E. Brunstetter Part 3 in The Discovery serialization. I'm still enjoying this series, although this part didn't grab my attention as much as the first two.

Rachel On the Case with Lord Peter Wimsey Three Complete Novels/Strong Poison/Have His Carcase/Unnatural Death by Dorothy L. Sayers
6/19/13
Having read all of Sayers' short stories about Peter Wimsey, I was excited to read some of the novels. They were very well-written, exciting, and interesting. I truly enjoyed them.

Rachel Faith (Brides of the West, #1) by Lori Copeland 6/21/13
This was a fun, sweet Christian romance. It's written well for the genre, and I enjoyed it a great deal. The characters were well drawn and interesting, and I liked how the story was about overcoming pride and stubbornness that keeps a person from true love and happiness.

They get even better by the series. :)

Rachel Good to know, Brittany. Yes, eventually I'm going to carry on with these good series I've been starting. :) I've been doing so many books based on titles, authors, or themes for various challenges that sometimes I just miss my old habit of reading one series after another, but I'm trying to broaden my reading habits and vary my reading habits, and I'm succeeding however haphazard it can sometimes feel. :)
