Mine would have to be the scene in the garden where Rochester declares his love. I fell in love with the book because of frequent re-reads of that section!

I love that scene as well, but I don't think I could choose my favorite scene. I like all the conversations that Jane has with Rochester they make me happy!
I love when Mr.Rochester prays and swears. I just love that he's jealous of St.John(he's so annoying) It's really cute. But, when he prays in the end, thanking God for a second chance, it's so beautiful and profound. I cry every time!
That is a sweet moment in the story! I can't recall if any of the adaptations include that scene, but I believe the BBC version with Timothy Dalton at least alludes to it -- they tried so hard to be faithful to the book!I agree, it's adorable when Rochester becomes jealous of St. John. The BBC's Jane Eyre really plays those teasing scenes well -- great chemistry between the two of them even though they (very unfaithfully) look the same age!
I love Jane and Edwards' discussion (or should I call it a disagreement?) after Jane finds out about Birtha... it is amazing that she stuck to her moral code. I hope I could do as much.
I agree with Cheri, in that part I was torn from the desire of them to be happily together and the jubilation that Jane was sticking to her morals. I loved how Rochester explained what was going on in his mind when they first met. I squealed with happiness when he said that he had just watched her through a door for a half an hour!! I love it how Rochester would not let the women who practically broke Jane and him up die in the fire. He had to go up on the roof and try to save her. I also agree with you, Lala (a.k.a Anna) when Rochester prays at the end I was already crying, but that made it come harder :) I ALSO agree with all of you seeing as the entire book was my favorite part :)

I love that part too!
So far my favourite part of the book is when Jane leaves the party room and Mr. Rochester asks her why shes leaving. I love when he says 'Goodnight, my -' and stops.
I love all the parts you all listed here...LOL. It's definitely hard to choose. But I guess my favorite part would be when they are by the tree declaring love for each other. I hate (yet love) how he makes her think he's gonna marry Blanche Ingram and teases her about it right before he confesses love for Jane. The first time I read it, I really thought he was going to marry Blanche Ingram, and then after I was pissed that he put Jane through that....but I still read that part over and over because I love it so much...LOL.Another part I love even though it was horrible, was when the wedding was interrupted. It has so much suspense and heartbreak.
Just pulled out my dog-eared copy specifically so I could answer this question! There are soooo many parts, but here is one, when Jane gets into the coach upon leaving Thornfield, "Gentle reader, may you never feel what I then felt! May your eyes never shed such stormy, scalding, heart wrung tears as poured from mine. May you never appeal to Heaven in prayers so hopeless and so agonised as in that hour left my lips: [and now the most gut-wrenching part!!!] for never may you, like me, dread to be the instrument of evil to what you wholly love."Ahhh, breaks my heart EVERY time. What a choice she had to make!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh I know, whenever i read it i sometimes skip over the whole part at her cousins house..just so i can read the part when she goes back to Rochester..haha

Perhaps "favorite" is the wrong word, but I agree with April that the most powerful section culminates with that qoute as she's getting in the coach. The pages leading up to getting in the coach, where she argues with Rochester, are just so heart wrenching.
Here is my other favorite quote, which is from the same section of the book. "Laws and principles are not for the times when there is no temptation: they are for such moments as this, when body and soul rise in mutiny against their rigour...If at my convenience I might break them, what would be their worth?"
— Charlotte Brontë (Jane Eyre)
That's a powerful one, haven't forgotten it since the first time I read the book. And it's really apropriate, especially in this day and age when everyone just changes their minds in a second and don't seem to possess many principles.
My favorite part of the book is when Jane comes back and finds out Mr. Rochester is blind and he gets jealous and then they get married and have a boy! That was beautiful!
Although I love all the parts/conversations between Jane and Mr. Rochester, my favorite part is when she tells off her Aunt and calls her on being such an unloving care giver toward her. I was so angry reading the beginning of the book, because I kept imagining how I wouldn't tolerate being abused so I was pleased when Jane finally stood up for herself.
Do I have to pick one favorite part? It would be so very difficult for me to choose. I love all the interactions with Jane and Mr. Rochester of course!
The parts I despise the most of course are Jane's nasty Aunt Reed and her spoiled rotten children and how they are so horrid to Jane but the just desserts is when her spoiled rotten children are not as winning and powerful as Jane has become. John drinks himself to death and the sisters are in disagreeance with each other!!! Not to mention, even on her death bed Aunt Reed can't accept Jane!!!! For being as ugly and horrible to Jane she will ATONE! I also hate when they are just about to be married and Mr. Briggs and Mr. Mason find the "impediment". ARRGH!!!!
^ But imagine how Jane would have felt discovering Rocehster's secret AFTER they were married. She would probably have hated it, and hated him, too. In that respect, Rochester seems a bit of an idiot, so ignorant about her character when really he should know better about what she might do and how she might react.
It would be hard to pick just one scene. I think my favorite section of the book, if I can call it that, is from the point when Jane returns to Thornfield after visiting Mrs. Reed to the point where she leaves again after the almost-wedding. We learn of Rochester's undying love for Jane and how agonized he is at the thought of losing her. The scene in the garden and also the farewell scene are probably my two favorites. What can I say, I love the drama and the intensity!
I think I most enjoy the scenes where Jane and Rochester are getting to know one another. I like their verbal exchanges, with their edgy sense of attraction and UST as well as their showing Jane's intelligence and independence. Also the garden scene for the emotional hit.
My favorite parts are those where Jane discovers she has blood relatives, insists on sharing her newfound wealth with them, and redecorates their shared home in anticipation of her "sisters'" homecoming. I felt that Bronte finally dropped her reserve in that small portion of her book; she had some fun; she let a little light shine in to Jane's life in a way that even Mr. Rochester's love couldn't manage.
I just love the section near the end when she is sat on Rochester's knee, they are talking about St John and he tells her to get off his knee, I love what she says to him about not wanting to move because she is comfortable, I always cry when he says I want a wife, and he'll choose her he loves best.
Oh yes that scene is amazing. Charlotte Brontë knew could write beautiful scenes, that are still better than most authors can today.
