Rayna | 1785 comments Totally agree ange......both of them are badly written characters that make me wanna pull my hair out!

Agreed on Immortals too.....i stopped reading that series too!

Gotta agree, loved the first, started the second and couldn't finish. Never even bothered witht he third.

message 62: by Rjsmommy (new)

Rjsmommy So many of these I agree with...just couldn't stand:

1. House of NIght...Zoey is such a tramp jumping from oneguy to the next and the men are even worse. They all just stay with her hoping she'll choose him and give each the time of day.

2. Evermore...yep Ever is such a stupid, lying female..stopped after the third book.

3. Jaz Parks...just bored.

4. Also the Darkyn and Dark Carpathian series lost my interest after the first 4 or 5.

Me too!!!! I LOVED Remember Me!!! I was so in shock by how much it sucked. :-(

message 66: by Tiny (last edited Apr 20, 2012 07:06PM) (new)

Tiny ♥Hearts (tinyhearts) | 25 comments Immortals Series for me sucked balls. Ugh! What is worst, is that I have the whole series sitting on my bookshelf. Damn stupid marketing people lured me in with the covers. LOL

Note to self: Stop judging a book by its cover, dimwit.
Self: But they're so PURRTYY, I can't help it! :P

I done this with Blue Bloods series too. Couldn't for the life of me finish those ones either. And naturally, because I'm so blonde-hearted, I bought the whole series of that one too. :/ My OCDness sucks balls too. :)

message 67: by Rjsmommy (new)

Rjsmommy Yep...BLueBloods got me too...read the first 1 1/2 and had to stop. My problem is that as a middle school LA teacher I put these books on my classroom library shelf and the kids keep reading so I feel guilty and have to keep buying these books that I'm never going to read.

Thirst 1 is the first 3 books in the Last Vampire series which was written back in 94 or 95, which could be the problem. I did not find that as I read them when they first came out.

Tammy ~Witching Hour Reads~ (03tammy-lynn) I have noticed that most of the books on this list are either written in the early to mid 90's or are young adult.
Is the problem the lack of sex?

LOL....No, I don't think it's that.

NO, I read plenty of other vampire books with no sex...and also plenty of YA vamps that are very good. These books just are not well written and have horrible plots and /or characters.

Tiffany (vampoholic) | 3255 comments Mod
Tho I LOVE to have my books with sex, this have NOTHING to do with that. As I stated I LOVED Remember Me (Remember Me, #1) by Christopher Pike , which I read when it originally came out in 1989 when I wasn't even allowed to know what sex was. The books we've mentioned were just horribly written. Hmmmm.....lemme think of one which is recent, with sex, yet still totally sucked..... Bonded by Blood (Sweetblood, #1) by Laurie London , which I'm hoping gets better since I have to review book 3.

well for me it's not lack of a sex scene if i want a good sex scean with vamps in a book to satisfy my perv self then ill read an erotica book with graphic detail in it with a hard core vamps and lots of yummy scenes so for me the books i'v read where ya but i didn't read them for the sex i read them like i do all books i read because they intrigue me and yes let me down with the story line

I'm going to agree with the Vampire Diaries series. It was definitely the worse and yes the TV series is a waaaaaay better! I was so annoyed. It slowed down my numbers because I struggled to finish.

LOL. I had to stop. I think I did make it through the first 4 maybe. Only redeeming quality was Damon. I really hoped he and Bonnie were going to get together.

It's not the lack of sex for me, it's the lack of caring about the characters and their struggles. I haven't read some of these books that have been mentioned, but I have a hard time giving a crap about high school drama stuff and I feel like if you're going to live forever, perhaps you should grow up and mature just a bit. Care about something other than what someone thinks of you. I hated Twilight and the Christopher Pike books and have had a hard time caring much about the Christine Feehan books. They all start to sound the same after a while.

Tiffany (vampoholic) | 3255 comments Mod
That's another problem I've noticed about a lot of books. They all start to have the same storyline!

message 81: by Tatjana (new)

Tatjana C (vampsessed) | 4 comments Vampire Diaries
Thirst
Ever series
and The Morganville Vampires

I stopped most of these series after 2 books, terrible. Just terrible.

message 82: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (oldbookwormcb) | 4 comments That series is TERRIBLE! Agreed!

message 83: by Tiffany, *nIGHT mISTRESS* on a MisSiOn! (new)

Tiffany (vampoholic) | 3255 comments Mod
LOL. Which one Cindy?

Charlotte (Buried in Books) I have to agree with Evermore - I've only read the first in the series and have no desire to read anymore - formulaic drivel.

Turned - a book outline that somehow got published, dire.

I've completely ground to a halt wit House of Night because Zoey is just hopeless. In fact any book that has a heroine that is TSTL doesn't interest me much, which is why I'm on the verge of giving up on Queen Betsy as well.

message 85: by Tiffany, *nIGHT mISTRESS* on a MisSiOn! (new)

Tiffany (vampoholic) | 3255 comments Mod
LOL. C, I still kinda like it, the last one wasn't so bad. HoN, not that Evermore crap. That was just a complete waste of paper.

message 86: by Rjsmommy (last edited Jun 30, 2012 05:35PM) (new)

Rjsmommy I gave up on both..HoN and Evermore! It only took 1 1/2 books for HoN...couldn't even read more than half of the second HoN to realize I just didn't like fickle boy-toy collector Zoey and the clinging boy-toys were just too pathetic. And, I read the first two in evermore and then just couldn't stand her either. I have the Queen Betsy series but haven't started it yet...

C, when I was a teen, I kinda been there done that with the boy toys, so I can kinda relate. LOL
