message 317: by T (new)

T (twoo) LOL...I know what you mean, I hesitate to answer in case I might be right and need to come up with a new set of clues!

message 318: by Carol/Bonadie (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 445 comments Okay, someone better get this soon because I'm not sure I can come up with ten clues...

1. I’m a cop in a midwestern state.
2. I met my significant other on the job; when I met her she was a cop too.

message 319: by T (new)

T (twoo) Another clue please!

You got it, T!

1. I’m a cop in a midwestern state.
2. I met my significant other on the job; when I met her she was a cop too.
3. She’s a raven-haired knockout often mistaken for a Vegas showgirl; sparks flew from the moment I met her.

message 321: by T (new)

T (twoo) I'm comin' up empty on this one...

message 322: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments I'm stumped, too, Carol. The Vegas showgirl look-alike clue just doesn't ring a bell. I do wish I could guess it and save you from having to come up with more clues:)

message 323: by T (new)

T (twoo) Carol: Google isn't even helping me on this one!

message 324: by Jan C (new)

4. After I met my SO we relocated to her home town of Las Vegas, but I missed home.
5. I’m the rugged type; well-respected by most and resented by some.

message 326: by Carol/Bonadie (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 445 comments Okay, I seem to have ground everything to a screeching halt. Let's keep going and see if anyone shakes loose a name.

2. I met my significant other on the job; when I met her she was a cop too.
3. She’s a raven-haired knockout often mistaken for a Vegas showgirl; sparks flew from the moment I met her.

5. I’m the rugged type; well-respected by most and resented by some.
6. My partner is nursing a serious crush on me.
7. She’s Chinese-American and a pistol.
8. I married my high school sweetheart, but she died of cancer.
9. I was married to my second wife when I met my SO.
10. The cases I work on always seem to involve immoral, sex-laden acts, with people stripped of their dignity, and stalked, until they are sent to that final burying place.

message 330: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments I could make a guess, except for the Chinese-American partner. Hope someone else can get it.

message 331: by Carol/Bonadie (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 445 comments number 10 gives some serious clues, I'll post answer tomorrow.

message 332: by T (new)

T (twoo) Number 8 sounds slightly familiar, but I'm still at a loss....

message 333: by T (new)

T (twoo) Okay, compliments of Google, kinda cheating, I know....

Is it Jonathan Stride from Brian Freeman's series?

message 334: by Carol/Bonadie (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 445 comments T wrote: "Okay, compliments of Google, kinda cheating, I know....

Kudos, T, you did it!! I really was despairing that anyone would get it. How'd you finally figure it out?

message 335: by T (new)

T (twoo) GOOGLE! Had to cheat....multiple combinations of fiction, cop, vegas, chinese, cancer....I think "cancer" was the one that cleared it up 'cause I Google'd before and saw Freeman, but it wasn't real definitive...

Okay, gotta round up a few more clues and then I think I've got a candidate in mind for the next one....I just jotted some notes down only to find that I was mixing two different characters up....:-(

That clue number 4 sounds like a dead giveaway. Since it doesn't ring any bells whatsoever I know I haven't read this series.

Off to google "fictional FBI profiler"......
