Adanah swung from the branch she was sitting on onto the tree directly in front of her. Three young hunters were invading what she called her territory.
One of the hunters strung his bow and aimed at a small doe with her baby. Adanah jumped to the ground silently and picked up a fist sized rock she took aim and threw it at the head of the hunter. It struck with a THWACK and the hunter fell down unconcious.
Elena saw another elf throw a rock at a hunter who tried to kill a doe and a faun so she threw a rock at one of the other Hunters, he fell unconsious
Adanah lept behind a tree aware another elf had seen her. She climbed the tree careful not to let the other elf see her.
"Stay out off this forest, and eat some veggies, looks like you need some."
Adanah rolled her eyes and sat on the highest ranch of the tree. She took her sword out of its sheath and started cleaning it with a rag.
Elena walked to the little hut where she lives
Adanah polished her sword until it gleamed.
Adanah spoke a few words in an ancient language. Water dripped off of the leaves and swirled around Adanah's outstretched hand. The water formed into a sphere of water and Adanah made her hand move as though she were throwing something. The sphere bobbed out into the air before her. The sphere stopped and Adanah motioned for some droplets of water to fall from the sphere.
Elena woke up and made something to eat
Adanah waved her hand and the sphere disentigrated into pounding rain. The water ran out and Adanah lowered her arm. She closed her eyes the magic had taken energy out of her.
The pounding rain stopped suddenly as Adanah fell asleep. She felt like she was falling into a dark bottomless void.
Elena saw the rain suddenly stop
Adanah woke up with a yelp. She started falling off the branch but suddenly a cushion of air came up under her to stop her fall.
"Oh!!!!!" squealed Nadyah who stood directly beneath the fallen elf suspended in the air"you must have been exhausted, falling asleep on that thin branch" came a voice from up in a tall pine
"there you are, sis! you can't hide from me cause I am---"Nadyah called up to the figure who now descended letting the other elf gently glide to the ground
"hey no more nonsense you need to get to your training and I have to get to the princess, I haven't let her alone for this long since the last raid who knows what might have happened since we left to visit aunt Viola, oh by the way my name is Elirah and that's my sister Nadyah"
"awe! I wanted to play with the foxes! they just had cubs! And any way, we were just gone for a day!"
"you know you can't play yet train first or master Garhan will cut your ears of and that's if you're lucky."
Adanah let go of the magic and jumped to the ground she tipped her head at the two other elves and slowly turned back to the tree.
"hi! what's your name?" Nadyah said excitedly"don't be rude, Nadyah."
Adanah ignored the girl and motioned at a tree. it bent down a limb and Adanah jumped up. When she was hidden from view of the two other elves she called. "Adanah,"and the name echoed throguhout the forest.
Tamara slid out a rapier the size of her arm and a half. She slashed it through the air and it sounded as if the wind had started up.
racing up the tree, Nadyah followed determined to mack a new friendElirah followed the leaves lifting her and singing lovely songs in the ancient language, Elirah loved this, she had forgotten how lovely trees sang.
Adanah melded into the tree and sat down on a natural platform. She closed her eyes and sat down letting the ancient language flow through her mind.
Nadyah shrieked and Elirah drew her bow."we just wa'ah be friends" Nadyah bent low in the gesture she had to perform while meeting the royalty
Adanah didn't hear the two elves outside the tree. She began to hum. Trees let your leaves be green, streams let your water flow smoothly, wind be strong, fire let your flames burn brightly.
Elirah heard the song through the trees and continued the song"Air let your breezes refresh the earth,sun let you spread your light and give life, Moon let you bring peace."
Adanah opened her eyes surprised. She melded out of the tree and looked into the girl eyes.
Elirah returned the look and was surprised to see how wise the other elf's eyes were
Adanah looked away quickly. She waved her hand and a branch came over and molded itself into a seat. Adanah waved her other hand and another branch seat came over. Adanah sat down in the first seat then motioned for Elirah to sit.
The space in front of Adanahs face began to glow then it turned into a ball of light. A face in the ball appeared and looked at Elirah. "This is your princess is it not,"Adanah asked in a voice like silver bells.
"um yes....I mean... It is, how did you know?" First stammering then making her voice mimic the rhythmic beauty of Adanah's
"Your thouhts are bursting out of your head, guard them well,"Adanah said. Tamara turned to Adanah and studied her. Adanah smiled and her eyes grew brighter.
Tamara looked through a silvery mist at and elf with silverylong flowing hair and dark blue eyes that looked so old and ancient. She gasped then turned to the other elf. "Elirah," she shouted. The other elf laughed with a sound of silver bells. Tamara smiled loving the sound.
"yes?" Elirah answered and couldn't help but smile because of the wondrous sound.
"Hi," Tamara said.Adanah stared at the two wondering what bond they have between them.
"You might need to get back to the princess,"Adanah said quickly.
"you're absolutely correct. At this rate I'll have to walk through the night." Elirah replied giving her sister a glare." Do I have to train? Can't I just stay here?" Complained Nadyah ignoring the look.
"is that a rhetorical question?'
"A what?"
"never mind. Good bye!"
"Bye!"
"Your sister will be safe with me,"Adanah assured.
"but...her trainer.... what should I tell him...he'll kill her then me!"
She saw the elf she saw earlier and two others. she walked up to them "Hi! my name is Elana but you can call me Ela"
"hi!" Nadyah said excitedly, this day was getting even better! More new friends!"noliy fieshat" Elirah greeted the new comer with a common ancient language saying for 'How are you or nice to meet you.'
Elirah laughed making a sound like chimes in a gentle breeze
Elirah then turned and took the tree rout towards the palace sighing what would she tell the training master?
