Please provide either a link or an author for Asian cooking.

Also, you need to specify in your post what your dish is and what makes it special. Your cookbook should relate to your dish.

Please do a new post for this task with the information.

Thanks.

You've listed two books for task 5.4 - you only need one. You may want to see if one of those books will fit another task and repost.

Task 25.8 requires at least 400 pages. Your book listed is less than 400, so you'll have to read another book to go with this. When you repost, please list both books.
Thanks!

scherzo♫ (pjreads) CINDIE - post 1600

15.8 - "Double, Double, Toil and Trouble..."
You might need to do a little toiling for this task but I don't think you will have too much trouble. On August 7,1606 William Shakespeare's Macbeth was performed publicly for the first time (at the Great Hall at Hampton Court). In honor of this event and this famous line you will need to read 2 books that...

A. Have the same title but are written by different authors (EXAMPLE: Twilight AND Twilight)
OR
B. Have very similar covers...(EXAMPLE: & )

I read Chosen and Chosen

The second book has a subtitle: Chosen: The Lost Diaries of Queen Esther.
In post 30 in the TASK HELP thread, Cynthia disallowed subtitles that were anything more than "A Novel."

You will need to do a new post for this task.

Actually, I think it's just the top-scorer at midpoint who gets to create it, regardless of whether they have a task in the current challenge or not. At least, that's what happened with me last season. On the other hand, since you're the top scorer, you can pass it on to whomever you like. Just thought I'd mention that. Cathy, there are no translation, combo nor big book points in this challenge, so you have given yourself too many points in your message #2. You probably meant to post this in the Reading With Style Challenge.

message 177: by CathyNJ (new)

scherzo♫ (pjreads) CHRISTINE US - post 1671

Task 25.5 "Share the Love"
Christine US

1st book: Dance Upon the Air by Nora Roberts
2nd book: The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen

The 1st book is within the genre "romance". The 2nd is within the genre "mystery".

What I enjoy the most about romance novels is there ability to totally whisk me away to another place through my imagination, without having to take a heavy toll on my brain. It's just good light-hearted fun to read and enjoy, while making me smile at the end that there are people living "happily ever after" in the world (or the world within the book). Within the genre as a whole, my favorite subgenre is the paranormal romance. It adds to the fun and light-heartedness with ghosts, witches, vampires, charms, etc. I like reading about all the mysteries of the paranormal and thinking about "what if" there was magic in the real world.

Mysteries do the opposite for me -- when I want to read a book and be totally absorbed and forced to think, I will pick up a mystery. Sometimes in life, things can get so routine with work, daily commute, errands...I feel I function on auto-pilot and real heavy thought isn't required. That is when I want to be shaken out of the typical and will pick up a mystery novel. Reading a mystery really pushes my mind's limits in trying to figure out 'whodunit' and why. I feel like it keeps my mind alert, aware and healthy - which is always a good thing! I prefer if the villian isn't obvious from page 1, but sometimes I feel like authors are really dumbing down their books for the general public. If I find a book that keeps me hooked and shocked at the end -- I feel like I've found a real treasure.

Tess Gerritsen is a GoodReads author.

10.9 You Cannot Open a Book without Learning Something:
A. Non-fiction: I read The Cello Suites: J. S. Bach, Pablo Casals, and the Search for a Baroque Masterpiece by Eric Siblin because I've always wanted to learn to play the cello. I've never done it, because a. I hate to practice and b. I have not one musical bone in my body--no sense of pitch, tempo, or "soul". The capper to this is that I was just recently at a concert where one of these suites was played.

B. Fiction The Cello Player by Michael Kruger

Task 10.9 requires only one book. You can use one of these for another task.

No. This has a thing where you read a piece of online fanfiction - which is what I got.
here is the specific "2nd task - Wednesday: Fanfiction (Many websites exist with examples of fanfiction)" thus the 30.1B designation.
