Lily Scott | 1 comments This was a good book though very sad. I cried at the end. But it was amazing how much Corrie and Betsie were trusting God! That was really encouraging and motivating for me.

Werner | 2281 comments I gave it a five-star rating, and posted it to our group's "read' shelf! You can click on it there to read my review, if you're interested.

Glenda Rouxel (rouxel) | 6 comments Love this book immensly. It's one of those books that I pick up to reread when I am "between books". That and Keith Green's biography, sometimes Lord of the Rings.

Glenda Rouxel (rouxel) | 6 comments Be prepared to have your life changed! It's actually written by his wife Melody Green, but really well-written and insightful. Makes you refresh your first love all over again.

I read The Hiding Place long ago and thought it was a wonderful book. Please vote for it at that listopia for 1,000 Christian books. I am looking for the link to get back there right now. Many books need to be added so please help if you can.

Patricia Mauro (pmauro2000) | 2 comments "The Hiding Place" stuck with me long after I read it. In fact, I read it a few times. It's amazing what Corrie and her family suffered through, and not once did they lose sight of God. Very touching and inspirational.

message 14: by Keith Seiji (new)

Keith Seiji Kawamura (japanmartyrtournov2018atend) | 9 comments Corrie ten Boon shared a powerful testimony on forgiveness.

She was speaking at a church and unbeknownst to her in the audience was one of the cruel Nazi guards in the camp where her sister died. He stood in line to talk to her. When she saw him, she was shocked. He said he was impressed with her message. He went on to say that after the war, he got saved. Then he expressed sincere sorrow for his sins: his brutality, horrible words, and actions. This former Nazi guard reached out his hand and asked, 'Could you find it in your heart to forgive me?'' Corrie shared how her hand became frozen to her side. She heard the Holy Spirit say, ''just take his hand, Corrie. Just take his hand.'' With supernatural effort, she commanded her arm to rise and ordered her hand to take his. At the moment their hands grasped, Corrie felt all the hatred and all the pain, and all her grief drain out. She was left with the peace of Christ that passes all understanding.

In that challenging moment, she forgave the man Christ forgave, just as God had forgiveness her. She became victorious over temptation.

Years later Corrie went on to be with the Lord. Corrie ten Boon stands as a shining example to all believers because she fought the good fight. She kept the faith. She finished the race,. Now she is wearing the crown of righteousness.

Let us follow her example and say no to our pride and no to our human sense of justice and by humbly admitting our need for mercy and forgive the unforgivable and love the unloveable. Then we can rejoice with Corrie one day as we hear Jesus say, ''well done My good and faithful servant.''
