I really liked The Alienist a LOT. The psychological aspects are fascinating! I hope your 2nd reading is as enjoyable as the 1st (possibly even more so.) Did you know that there's a 2nd Dr. Laszlo novel?

I found it very uncomfortable reading. Certainly one of the most powerful books I've ever read. Made me feel guilty for reading it because it's almost like you're watching the events with the narrator.

Hi Dustin and Kyle~I finished The Alienist last night and did enjoy it as much as the first time. The story is amazing and Carr's attention to detail about the times and events of the time are so interesting
I do know about The Angel of Darkness~I've actually had it for many years but never read it..maybe now I'll get to it
