Scott | 401 comments I finished Night Shift. I really enjoyed some of the stories. "One for the Road" really made me want to reread 'Salem's Lot.

I think that I'm going to read The Dragon Factory next.

Laymon is great. I've read all of his except Cuts. Try Body Rides, Island, Flesh, After Midnight In the Dark or Funland. All of those are brilliant. Beware and Bite are a bit ropey

It gets really good reviews and sounded great from the blurb but I wasn't too impressed with that one. It wasn't crap, just not up to his usual standard

A good GR friend read it a couple months ago and wasn't impressed at all. He gave it 2 stars..

Island is amazing. I read it in a day. Burnt tea while I read the last chapter!

Im sure i've seen it before..its well worth checking out.. btw James Smythe is a massive SK fan and also an author, I've just loaned his book.. will let everyone know what i think, as he sites King as his biggest influence!

He says he wrote it then he realised it was very reminiscent of the stand.. my favorite SK.. so im a bit scared, because if I hate it, it will put me off him.
