You have definitely peaked my interest. Perhaps I will check it out. Thanks for the response.

Just started reading
. I know so many people that said it was fantastic, but then I keep seeing reviews from other users who don't share the same feeling. so I'm interested to see how this will go. It's almost 700 pages, so we'll see how long it will take me.

I really enjoyed Ghost Road Blues. I really like Maberry's writing. The beginning of Ghost Road Blues creeped me out right away. So far, Dead Man's Song is covering some of the same material so it's moving a bit slower for me but I still like the characters.
I've finished reading
by Charlotte Rogan yesterday. The Lifeboat is the debut novel of author Charlotte Rogan. It is a compelling, gripping and extremely thought-provoking tale. This novel tells the story of survival at its most basic level. It explores human nature and morality. It shows what happens to people while they are fighting to stay alive. The novel is a psychological thriller really. The book is very well-written. I really loved the author's writing style. I was completely engrossed in this novel from the very first page. The way in which Charlotte Rogan describes the moral decisions the characters have to make is quiet chilling. My full review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Now I'm halfway through
by Sophie Kinsella.

As well as loving King, I also love Grisham so I'm reading one I've been putting off for about two years, The Confession. Many have said that he has become stale over the years and I did find that to be the case for a little while, but this story is back to being a great Grisham. I'm hooked.
Also, when I finished The Satanic Verses, I completed my GoodReads goal of 30 books in 2012. Today is a good day.

The Talisman is a truly amazing book, IMO! It's a favorite of mine, actually. Thank you for asking.:)
Scott wrote: "I finished Killing Floor and now I'm reading Too Many Curses."What did you think of Killing Floor? I have it on my challenge list for 2013.
Reading The Hobbit, taking longer then it should due to final exams and tests that I'm taking.
I am reading a very controversial and sensitive book called Aphrodisiac by Mercedes Keyes. She is an African American author who writes on interracial relationships. However, this isn't the controversy with this book. This book goes into very sensitive subject which many people may be uncomfortable with. I love authors who dare to push the envelope or write on subjects others are afraid to touch. I was recommended this book by my sister-in-law mother. And I recommend this book to those who are not shocked or offended easily. Its not well written and it has its errors, but the content is good. If those can read Fifty Shades, this you can read.
"Two Graves" just released by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child. Big Agent Pendergast fan - I'm reading this now!
Tracy wrote: "Scott wrote: "I finished Killing Floor and now I'm reading Too Many Curses."What did you think of Killing Floor? I have it on my challenge list for 2013."
I didn't like it as much as One Shot but this was the first one in the series and it needed to build the background of Reacher. Definitely worth the read.

Thank you Scott and Dustin for the recommendations I have Killing Floor on my challenge because I want to read the first in the series but these two sound really good! I've just added One Shot andBad Luck And Trouble to my list. :)

"Harry Potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing

I'm reading Chronicles of the Black Company by Glen Cook. Been on a fantasy kick for a few years now.

You're so very welcome, Tracy! I love recommending great books to friends, and the Jack Reacher novels are terrific, IMO.. from the little that I've read, anyway.:) I'd love to read the entire series, actually!
I re read zealously all the books I have and enjoy. Stephan King books that I've done this to recently are; The Stand, The Green Mile and I am about to start the one about JFK. Oh I almost forgot; Pet Semetary. The movie does it no justice at all.
I just finished Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell which was awesome and now I am going to read The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins.

'Magical' is a great way to describe it Dustin. It is one of the only books that the memory of reading it gives me the warm fuzzies. I was so sad when I finished reading it, I just didn't want it to end. When I first read this quote, it made me think of The Talisman...
“Sometimes you read a book so special that you want to carry it around with you for months after you've finished just to stay near it.”
― Markus Zusak
I've finished reading
by Sophie Kinsella yesterday. The first half of the book was quite good but I got a bit bored with it during the second half. The book was well-written and it had a lot of extremely funny scenes in it. However, the plot was very predictable. I made a guess when I was at 5% of the way in about how this book would end and I figured it out exactly! The author is not very good at adding "twists and turns" into her plots, which is the main reason I haven't picked up a book by this author for ten years. I thought the author would have learned something in all that time but apparently not!My full review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Now I'm a few chapters into
by Christopher Moore.
I started reading
The Lovely Bones. This book is the hardest book I ever read, emotionally. I am only on page 51 and I had to put it down. All I can say is I have a 13 year old daughter who goes back and forth to school by herself ( well, with a friend or two). This book makes me want to get a babysitter for her. smh
I just started Wool Omnibusand I am already hooked. I also finished Gone Girl(fabulous)and Every Secret Thing(meh)
Finished Too Many Curses. I really enjoy A. Lee Martinez's books. The ones I've read so far have been excellent. Now I'm reading The New World which will lead into The Knife of Never Letting Go. I want to see if the are appropriate for my kids to read.
Ellie wrote: "Now I'm a few chapters into The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror by Christopher Moore."That's a good one. I love Moore's books. Always good for a laugh.

Intresting. Curious about this one."
If you can handle King, you can handle Rushdie.
It is a unique book though. Be prepared to ask questions and perhaps dig online for the answers.
I'm definitely going to read it more than once to maximize my enjoyment as the story is fantastic.
It's really not controversial at all...it's about mental illness and the immigrant (Indian) experience in London circa 1988.
