Hey Scott! The movie, I think, is pretty good. So far as I have read of the book, there are some maybe major differences. I saw the movie before I even knew it was a book, so it is interesting to see how the story 'really' was. :)

Hi Jason! I saw the movie first, right after it won best picture at the Sundance Film Festival, and I really liked it. I didn't know it was a book until a couple of months ago. We'll see how the book compares to the movie. :)

Oh Wow. I read this book years ago twice. In fact it is sitting in my bookshelf. I loved it. But it's kind of disturbing. It is not for the weak at heart. Have you ever seen What's Eating Gilbert Grape? It has that type of feel. Let me know how you like this book

Denis Pedersen | 44 comments I finished The Dragon Reborn on wednesday, and so I am jumping right into The Shadow Rising which is one of the books in the series I've really been looking forward to re-reading ;-)

I had actually planned to read a book or two in-between each installment, but I've enjoyed them so much that I couldn't wait before starting the next one... They're actually better than I remembered! ;-)

I haven't read Desperation, but the rest of them are awesome. I think any one of them would be a good choice. I especially liked Dreamcatcher.

Hi, Ethan!

I would wait for the September read, that way you can read the chosen book with your fellow Constant Readers. If you're not interested, I'd definitely go with The Talisman!

Whenever I can, I like to read in the order in which they were written. Some authors more than others, I get a better picture of the author's character and plot development as they progress. In the mean time, they're ALL good ☺

I just started reading her books. I don't know who to compare her to. The Cedar Cove series reminds a less vicious version of Wisteria Lane, Desperate Housewives.
