What are you reading right now?
I fixed my comment above. I meant to reply to Kathryn that I read The Beach and that I wanted to see the movie.
Alondra wrote: "reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and can hardly put it down. thank goodness for cooking timers, or my dinner would have burned! :D"That's pretty funny, Alondra!:)
Scott wrote: "I fixed my comment above. I meant to reply to Kathryn that I read The Beach and that I wanted to see the movie."Hey Scott! The movie, I think, is pretty good. So far as I have read of the book, there are some maybe major differences. I saw the movie before I even knew it was a book, so it is interesting to see how the story 'really' was. :)
Kathryn wrote: "I'm reading Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell."Hi Kathryn, I really enjoyed Winter's Bone though I think I may like the movie a tad bit more which is unusual for me. Have you seen the film yet?
Currently I'm reading A Visit from the Goon Squad for the second time.
Kathryn wrote: "I'm reading Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell."Congratulations on finishing The Beach, Kathryn!!
I just looked up Winter's Bone, and it sounds interesting. I hope you enjoy it.:)

Hi Jason! I saw the movie first, right after it won best picture at the Sundance Film Festival, and I really liked it. I didn't know it was a book until a couple of months ago. We'll see how the book compares to the movie. :)
Kathryn wrote: Yeah, the movie adapted the book. I love the movie, er..well, I liked it enough to buy it. :) It's really good so far...at eleven pages. :)Yea the movie was pretty good, we bought it. I did not know it had a book, so nice i will have to look for it.

I hope you can find a copy, Janie, and enjoy it.

Ethan wrote: "Just started The eyes of the dragon. Not typical King stuff. But i really like it."
Ethan I loved that one too. I need to make that a reread for me this year.
I'm reading
Yup! I'm pretty busy! I'm probably not going to start anything else and just read one book at a time through out the school year because this is a lot to keep up with.
I am reading
Sacred by Dennis Lehane. So far the book started with action. I didnt want to get off the train going to work this morning.
Kit★ wrote: "Started Back Roads this evening"Oh Wow. I read this book years ago twice. In fact it is sitting in my bookshelf. I loved it. But it's kind of disturbing. It is not for the weak at heart. Have you ever seen What's Eating Gilbert Grape? It has that type of feel. Let me know how you like this book
I am currenty reading The Devil in Gray, by Graham Masterton. Very good so far and I just started it.
Dustin wrote: "Jason wrote: "Will be starting on Blockade Billy tonight."I hope you enjoy it, Jason.:)"
Sure did.
Next on the list Brief Interviews with Hideous Men

I am reading Paint It Black by Janet Fitch. Hoping to finish it by Sunday so I can start the SK group read for September. :)
Kathryn wrote: "I am reading Paint It Black by Janet Fitch. Hoping to finish it by Sunday so I can start the SK group read for September. :)"Enjoy it, Kathryn.:) I'm looking forward to reading your review, as the books sounds amazing, IMO!
Ethan wrote: "What do yall think i should start next pet sematary, desparation, insomnia, dreamcatcher, or the talisman."Desperation could make it for the September group read. So maybe wait and see? I am looking forward to a reread on that one.
Right now I am reading The Devil in Gray, it is so good! Will finish it tonight.

That's aweso..."
The Talisman is just fantastic.
I finished The Dragon Reborn on wednesday, and so I am jumping right into The Shadow Rising which is one of the books in the series I've really been looking forward to re-reading ;-)I had actually planned to read a book or two in-between each installment, but I've enjoyed them so much that I couldn't wait before starting the next one... They're actually better than I remembered! ;-)
Ethan wrote: "What do yall think i should start next pet sematary, desparation, insomnia, dreamcatcher, or the talisman."I haven't read Desperation, but the rest of them are awesome. I think any one of them would be a good choice. I especially liked Dreamcatcher.
I'm re-reading Dolores Claiborne while waiting for Let's Go Play At The Adams' to arrive on my doorstep. I was hoping it would be here yesterday, but it wasn't, and I needed a quick read to get me through the weekend.
Ethan wrote: "What do yall think i should start next pet sematary, desparation, insomnia, dreamcatcher, or the talisman."Hi, Ethan!
I would wait for the September read, that way you can read the chosen book with your fellow Constant Readers. If you're not interested, I'd definitely go with The Talisman!
Ethan wrote: "What do yall think i should start next pet sematary, desparation, insomnia, dreamcatcher, or the talisman."Whenever I can, I like to read in the order in which they were written. Some authors more than others, I get a better picture of the author's character and plot development as they progress. In the mean time, they're ALL good ☺
I've finished the 9th book in the Stephanie Plum series (and the best one so far)
by Janet Evanovich. Now I'm reading
by Donald McCaig. It's Gone With the Wind from Rhett Butler's point of view.
I just finished The Eyes of the Dragon and decided to take a break from King with Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. So far I'm enjoying it greatly!
I would have waited dustin but the only books i have that were nominated are everything's eventual and desperation and i just read everything's eventual .
Gwen wrote: "I just finished The Eyes of the Dragon and decided to take a break from King with Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. So far I'm enjoying it greatly!"Hi, Gwen-
I really hope to read
It sounds fascinating. When you're finished, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.:)
Ethan wrote: "I would have waited dustin but the only books i have that were nominated are everything's eventual and desperation and i just read everything's eventual ."Oh, all right, Ethan. Whichever King book you do end up reading , it's bound to be brilliant, IMO!

I just started reading her books. I don't know who to compare her to. The Cedar Cove series reminds a less vicious version of Wisteria Lane, Desperate Housewives.

I really enjoyed it! Yea, it was weird and a little disturbing in places, but it was very good. Like a train wreck I couldn't tear my eyes away from. I'm definitely interested in trying more by this author :D
