I've read all of the Pendergast books as well as the Alienist and never made that connection myself, but I do love the writing styles of both.
Just finished Ghost Road Blues and really liked it, gave it 4 stars. Just starting Those Across the River.
Kyle wrote: "I'm reading
, the latest in the Alex Cross series. Excellent!"This one is one of my favorite Alex Cross books from James Patterson
Finally finished Lisey's Story, next I'm going to read The Ruins. I should be done by Christmas! LOL
I just finished The Long Walk. Now I think I might try to finish out the Harry Potter series. I just started Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Hi, Scott-
Great series, IMO! I loved every minute of it!
Right now I'm reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Battle Royale, and Horse Heaven. So far, they're good.
Started The Night Eternal, the last book of The Strain trilogy. I like it so far but I'm finding myself struggling to remember some of the characters ... to long between the second book and this one.
Just finished The Reckoning By Kelley Armstrong I really enjoyed it I'm now currently reading Apartment 16 By Adam Nevill
Started Orwell's Animal Farm last night. Had to force myself to put the book down since I had to wake up early this morning. I can't wait to get home and finish it!
I have, and it wasn't really my cup of tea. But for some reason Animal Farm kept my interest all the way through.
Courtney wrote: "I loved Gods Behaving Badly! Very cute and different!"I'm finding it cute but not very different. I think it's because I read Fated about a year or two ago and loved the heck out of that book.
Well, recently I've been reading whatever my co-workers throw at me. Right now its Dead Watch by John Sandford. I'm not very far along, it has some interesting ideas, but I'm not huge into political thrillers because, though I like thrillers, I'm just not that into politics :( Not in fiction-novel terms, anyway.
I'm reading The Native Star by M.K. Hobson! It started out a little slow for my taste, but it's picking up now. I'm enjoying the banter between the main characters :-).
Finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and now continuing on with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.I almost started 11/22/63 but I kept to my word of finishing up the Harry Potter series.

Oh, man, I would be SO tempted, Scott!:)
Hi Dustin,I finished Part One last night. Sal somehow surprised me, I didn't expect him to be... I don't know what but it's a pleasant surprise. I'm undecided on whether I like it or not but I'll certainly keep reading.
Right now I'm reading Weave World by Clive Barker, someone King praises very highly for this scary novel. About 30 pages into it right now, can't wait for the scary stuff to start happening! :)
I finished Resurrection:Zombie Epicand thought it was ok. I then read a short novella The Shelter. I really like this author (James Everington) and find his writing to be very reiminiscent of Stephen King's earlier work. I am currently reading GARDENS OF NIGHT
which is good, but mysterious so far.

Hi, Susanna-
That's great! Keep me posted, please. I love hearing about how pieces of work are perceived, you know, because I think every readers' experience is different. Especially with Classic literature such as On The Road.
Breanna wrote: "Right now I'm reading Weave World by Clive Barker, someone King praises very highly for this scary novel. About 30 pages into it right now, can't wait for the scary stuff to start happening! :)"Breanna- I LOVE Weave World. Clive Barker is a master at what he does, IMO!
Dustin wrote: "Breanna wrote: "Right now I'm reading Weave World by Clive Barker, someone King praises very highly for this scary novel. About 30 pages into it right now, can't wait for the scary stuff to start h..."I have to agree with you on that one.
Dustin,The book certainly does live up to its name. I think I have some trouble reading classic literature. If it doesn't grab me, I don't know what to make of it. So far, On The Road keeps me reading but it isn't really grabbing me. I guess I'm still trying to figure out why Sal is so keen on following Dean (aside from the obvious) and what will eventually become of it.
I have to say, about "Weaveworld" - there are some extremely memorable bits in it, some I'll never forget -- On the whole, however, it's not the type of book I truly care for.
I loved Weaveworld its my 2nd favorite Barker novel were the sexual bits what bugged you Bondama or the way he handled fairies?
I need to read more Barker, maybe that'll be my goal for next year. Especially since I can borrow most of his books from my boyfriend.
