What are you reading right now?
I'm reading The Shining, and quite enjoying making my way through the large pile of King books I bought at a yard sale at the beginning of summer. (:Next in line: Dreamcatcher

If you haven't seen the movie, The Sandlot, ya gotta see it.
I used to find King paperbacks for $.25 or $.50 at yard sales...I should probably try that again! I read a lot of his stuff in hs, but I'm just now starting to read it again. Call me dark, but that's my 'summer reads' material!

Then we are very opposite;)
I must, or I prefer reading the book before seeing the movie adaption. 'Cause when I see the actors, see what the persons from the book look like it just messes up my head. I must imagine them myself first by reading the book and then compare it to the ones on screen. I'm probably just weird. I don't know:)

just finished Men of the otherworld By Kelley Armstrong and now I'm currently reading Ghost Light By Joseph O Connor

I only picked up the first one as a tester, was too scared to spend all that money on getting all of them at once, but if I like it, the rest of the series will definitely be going on my wishlist :)

The Inheritance Cycle is a very good series.:) I highly recommend it!
I'm about 1/3 of the way in, and I'm loving it so far! I'm thinking I can go ahead and put the others on my wishlist now :D
Courtney wrote: "Finished Unwind, now starting Margaret Atwood's Oryx and Crake."That book is really hard to get through at the beginning but it's interesting if you actually make it all the way through.

Do you mean Oryx and Crake? Because I found it grabbed me right from the beginning - I'm about 1/3 of the way through, and I'm really enjoying it!
Kit★ wrote: "I'm about 1/3 of the way in, and I'm loving it so far! I'm thinking I can go ahead and put the others on my wishlist now :D"Oh, I definitely would add the other books, Kit!!
I'm really looking forward the last book.:)

Yes ma'am, I don't know why but the beginning didn't really appeal to me.
If anyone has The Colorado Kid on their reading list, I highly recommend the audio version. The guy who reads does an awesome accent.

Who did read the audio version?

What are your thoughts/opinions on Cycle of The Werewolf?
Just finished Shadow of the Giant by OSC; starting last of the Enders saga - Ender in Exile. Currently reading Ender in Exile and IT.
Woo-hoo, I read Cycle of The Werewolf yesterday (though I don't think it should have taken me three hours to finish!!)
I finished reading The Stand tonight and will start on Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter tomorrow. I won this book on Giveaways and should be a fast read. It's about a 1/4 the length as The Stand which was close to 1200 pages.

After so many people telling me I need to read the Stand I actually went and bought the book (for as long as it is I want to be able to take my time with it). I am also reading A Place called Freedom.
I'm reading Dean Koontz's Forever Odd. So far it's OK. I'm on Chapter 9 and nothing much seems to be happening. Hoping the story will start to move on a bit quicker.

yes, this is my first time reading the shining, so far im really enjoying it, i actually found a store with a whole bunch of classic king books really cheap so bought a few :)
Cheap King books - always an awesome find! I enjoyed the shining a lot more than some of his more recent books I've read.
I am reading carrie. It is a very good book...I think out of most of Kings book (even if I've only read a few) its a bit easier to read since it is his first book.
Bianca --"Perfume" is an extraordinary book -- Even after three re-reads, still can't make up my mind whether or not it is extraordinarily awful, or extraordinarily good!! I will say, though, "Perfume" is most definitely the most unusual book I've read in my life!I am looking forward to your review!!

I am listening to
right now, but I just found Dolores Claiborne hardback at my library sale for $1.50, so I may revisit that soon!
Lena, the movie is based on the book, but the book is much, much more powerful - and it gets the idea across so incredibly better than the movie.

I can't read the book first, or I always hate the movie. The book is always better. If I start with the movie, I can enjoy both.
Dreamcatcher was one of those movies that didnt really make sense to me, and I kept thinking the book probably explained everything.
