RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I'm not kidding. That's the headline. Please tell me someone at NPR at least giggled before they posted this sucker.

I find this hard to believe :-)

Kevin "El Liso Grande" wrote: "as opposed to....???"

Without reading the article, I wondered that too.

message 6: by Mary (new)

Mary (madamefifi) I cannot believe that the original post by RA includes the word "sucker". Freudian slip? Let the games begin!

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

"smooth balls" is in this thread title. Y'all have been filthy while I've been away today! Naughty!

Get behind the ficus, all of you!

message 11: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Hee. Does NPR have to go behind the ficus, too? Not fair!

message 12: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
It is a REALLY BIG ficus.

but they as well!

message 16: by Lori (new)

Lori Oh someone was really chuckling when they wrote that headline. The whole editorial office was uproarious I bet! That must have a been a good time.

I always wanted to work at NPR.

I know a guy who was at CSU with me last year who used to work at NPR. In fact, he's on goodreads. Cool guy.

Lori Hey, 3 years and only 57 books? But he HAS read A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian, hahaha! Which, btw, is fiction, I had to take a look.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Are we being rated on the number of books we read per year now? (I might have to start faking it)

message 20: by Lori (new)

Lori Nonono, not at all, I was teasing Sallers

Gail, your AV is freaking me out!

message 21: by Lori (new)

Lori (Oh, and let's be honest, have you ever faked it?)

How many women here have faked it.

Apropos to thread title, in a way, hee.

message 22: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Don't tease me! he's just another graduate student at CSU who prob. joined Goodreads to be as cool as me.

(and failed.)

You don't like Bannakaffalatta? He is the nicest cyborg I could think of. :)

message 24: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Wait, you're the cyborg! He's a cyborg? Who else is a cyborg? What is a cyborg? Doesn't this belong over in that scifi thread?

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

You would prefer to talk about smooth balls? I was just defending my rather attractive AV. :)

message 26: by Lori (new)

Lori I see that so far no one has taken up the faking item.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

I didn't realise there was an alternative to faking.

message 28: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) Lori, maybe you should ask who hasn't faked it! :) That would be interesting...

message 29: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments I almost faked it once. Really just wanted it over with. It was about 4:00 A.M. and I was seriously tired.

TMI?

message 30: by Lori (new)

Lori Not at all! As a matter of fact this is fascinating, I didn't know MEN faked it too!

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

It is an ego thing for men, not quite the same thing.

message 32: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Are we talking faking reading? That's a thread idea...

message 33: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Oh I fake reading a lot. A lot a lot. It is a requirement for grad school. NOBODY can read that many books.
