LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments Here we go, starting in July, attempting to read 50 books by the end of 2010. It's possible, if unlikely. Keep your fingers crossed!

Lioba | 138 comments *fingers crossed* :)

If not, since you have only 6 months left, everything 25 up is fine :)

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 1: The Passage - Justin Cronin
The Passage

This book was slow and long and could've been better, but not the worst I've read.

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 2: Bite Me - Parker Blue
Bite Me

Decently written for a first book. It was YA so a quick read. I enjoyed it as an easy read. :)

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 3: When Darkness Comes-Alexandra Ivy

Not a fan. At all. Too many fractured sentences, unbelievably poor character development, and I just didn't CARE what happened by the end, I just wanted it to be over.

And to Lioba: THANKS! :) Hopefully I'll get there!

Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning

I like this author. I'm flying through her stuff and it's unbelievably engaging. Wonder what else of hers I can get my grubby little hands on.

Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning

What a cliffhanger. And of course the next one isn't out yet. OF COURSE. So I must move on, and anxiously await it to be released so I can devour the final book in this series as quickly as I devoured the rest.

Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione

It was pretty good. A little light on the character development but a decent plot that kept you interested. :)

Untamed by Elizabeth Lowell

This was the first romance book I ever read as I stumbled upon it in the library of a rental vacation home one summer in my teens. I love to revisit this book from time to time and relive those days just a bit.

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 11: Dark Lover- JR Ward
Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward

I've read sporadically through this series, a book here, a book there, with no thought to chronological order. I'm trying to go all the way through now

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 12: Lover Eternal- JR Ward
Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #2) by J.R. Ward

Not terribly impressed with this one. I constantly found myself wishing it would just end so I could move on to the next one. It could've been so so so so so much better

Donna | 1350 comments Next two, really good. Books 5 & 6 will make your head ache. Book 7 gets back on track. Book 8 depends on how you feel about what she does with Jon Matthew in the previous books. On the plus side; Wrath seems to improve with each book.

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 13: Lover Awakened - JR Ward
Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward

I enjoyed this book! It was well written, well paced, and I loved the characters. Zsadist has a soft side after all. But then, don't they all? :)

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 14: Lover Revealed -JR Ward
Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #4) by J.R. Ward

I liked this book too! Butch is such an awesome, gritty character, brought to earth by the lovely, elegant Marissa (who found she had a backbone after all!). I can't wait to devour the rest of them!

You are absolutely right. I loved them. Ward is a strong author, I just don't know what she was doing with the second book. And I'm halfway through the fifth book and enjoying it as well. Hopefully the rest continue somewhat like this at least!!!

Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #5) by J.R. Ward

I loved this book, but then, V has been my favorite character throughout, so I knew I was gonna love.

message 20: by Donna (new)

Donna | 1350 comments I was loving me some V too, but the whole Jane as a ghost thing makes me want to bang my head into a wall.

Dracula by Bram Stoker

This was a free book on Kindle, so I had to get it and read it :)

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 17: The Warrior's Bed - In The Warrior's Bed by Mary Wine

Not a fan. No character development, no real plot, and I just didn't give a shit. A book that should've taken me a day to read took four, just because I didn't CARE.

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 23: Halo: The Fall of Reach -Erik Nylund
The Fall of Reach (Halo, #1) by Eric S. Nylund

I read this book so I would have something to talk to my boyfriend about seeing as he got this game when it came out and I think he's gotten three shades paler from sitting inside and playing it. It was surprisingly well written and engaging. I enjoyed it!

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments Halo: The Flood - William C Dietz
Halo The Flood by William C. Dietz

Again, something to talk to my boyfriend about. This one I was so not impressed with. This book was written from the game page by page and it was painful to see them try to squish it onto the pages and leave out so much potential character development. I hated reading this book.

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 25: Son of the Shadows- Juliet Marillier
Son of the Shadows (Sevenwaters, #2) by Juliet Marillier

Finally got around to reading book 2 of the Sevenwaters Trilogy (Which apparently has five books in it, confusing!). I liked it! Not as much as the first one, but I did like it a lot, and I've heard that the third one is the best of the three, so I'm very excited to get my grubby hands on that one and read it as well, even though Kindle doesn't have it. (But they have one, two and four....how's that make sense?)

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 26: Heart's Blood -Juliet Marillier
Heart's Blood (Whistling Tor, #1) by Juliet Marillier

A great read, and a different take on Beauty and the Beast. I loved this book, even if it was a bit predictable.

PS: More than halfway through, but only two months left!!! Lots more reading to do

LilSteps (ratliner) | 34 comments 27: Enchanting the Lady- Kathryne Kennedy
Enchanting the Lady (Relics of Merlin, #1) by Kathryne Kennedy

This book was childishly written, but surprisingly engaging. I really enjoyed it and the characters in it. I just wish it wasn't quite so predictable. Oh well.
