Kyle Holden | 2 comments A read this book awhile back and now its bugging the crap out of me to try to remember its name. Basicly the story was that earth sends a team to check out this ship that has been spoted around saturns orbit. While doing so the ship gets taken into the ship that looks like a floating disk. While inside the ships crew discover strange creatures and relize that each person now has different knowledge on how to communicate with each of them. The book had some strong sexual themes to it, and I believe it had a name like titan but I'm not really sure

I thought of "Sirens of Titan" by Kurt Vonnegut, but from what little I remember, that wasn't the plot, although the "aliens" had a way of knowing, or understanding, that was referred to as "grokking".

Jessica (jessdaygeorge) | 191 comments "Grokking" comes from Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land, which is about the first human born on Mars, and takes place entirely on Earth.

Dorothy Miller | 9 comments Right you are, Jessica. Now I'll have to reread "Sirens of Titan" , because I can't remember the plot! Just pieces, like the "fair witnesses", or was that Hienlen? I'm too confused to help others!

Dawn | 220 comments fair witnesses is heinlein, too, I'm pretty sure ;)

Jessica (jessdaygeorge) | 191 comments Yep. One of Jubal's secretaries was a fair witness. The blonde, as I recall. Love Stranger in a Strange Land! Never heard of Sirens of Titan, but I might give it a shot!
