If practice makes perfect, men should have the clear edge in beer tasting, since they account for 72.8% of the world's beer sales, according to market-research firm Datamonitor Group. But SABMiller, which makes Pilsner Urquell, Peroni and Grolsch in addition to Miller and Coors brands, says its empirical evidence shows that females are the superior sex when it comes to detecting such undesirable chemicals as 3-methyl-2-butene-1-thiol, which makes beer "skunky."

And this is why a lot of women don't LIKE beer...

I actually enjoy both too, RA. I also enjoy PBR and Coors Light, what I consider the American equivalents of both. But I prefer Dos Equis or Pacifico for a Mexican beer, or a Stella for a European beer.

They're both such summer beers for me. Like tradition. But I try to drink a lot of local beer, too. Problem is, I really don't drink much. Maybe I should drink more.

My beer for this summer is the Franzikanner Hefeweizen. Nice and summery without being piss.

i don't really understand the appeal of beer - or anything else for that matter - in a can. beer in a can is for bums. other beverages in a can are for teens. i only drink beer that's on tap or in a bottle.

I agree with you in general. Top first, bottle second, cans a distant third.

But there are a couple of beers that I believe are canned for a reason, and they're pretty good. This is one. Young's Double Chocolate Stout is another. And Murphy's Irish Stout. For that matter, Guinness in a can is better than Guinness in a bottle.
