Why does it say this was first published in 2002? Shouldn't it be 2005?

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, if it's some sort of typo, that might make it a valuable collector's item. It was first publication was 2005, and in countries outside the English speaking world, after that.
The editions I looked at on the Goodreads website say it was first published in 2005. Also, I have a hardback First American edition and it says it was published in July, 2005.
And if this helps on the when it was published thing, I was there, in line waiting for the thing the day it came out, in 2005. If it had come out in 2002 I couldn't have been at the store I got it because I didn't live in the area then. Apparently one edition has the wrong date on it. Most people won't notice it and will just treat it like any other book. You need to take yours, get an archival storage box, stick it in the box, put the box in a safe deposit box, and in 50 years when you've got a mint condition copy with the wrong date on it, you can send your grandkids to college on the proceeds.

Mint condition hard back books might be valuable anyway, but one with the wrong date would definitely be worth a lot!!
