Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) I'll be m.i.a. thru to next week, maybe longer. I'm in the hospital w/kindey stone complications (again) and had 1 surgery last night. (Please pray w/me that that works so I don't have to have a 2nd surgery! Thanks!) Everyone take care and I'll be back just as soon as I'm home. (Summer 2010 group read delayed too).

Cheryl S. | 3501 comments Hey Jo---so sorry to hear about your troubles. I have also had kidney stones so know how much fun they are NOT! I'm sending prayers for a speedy resolution your way.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) Thanks Cheryl! Turns out a nasty infection is the bad thing here & not the stones! 5-7 days total (I Pray!) of being in here. But I'm improving and taking it days by day. (A very very very bad infection - turns out I was 'life or death' sick and I had no idea).

Cheryl S. | 3501 comments Very scary, Jo. My youngest daughter had this type of infection when she was about 7 yrs old and spent 10 days on IV antibiotics. She's in her 30s now and still is on oral meds every day of her life because if she goes off of them she gets an infection right away. I'm sure hoping you continue to improve and my prayers are with you.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) Oh Cheryl, I'm so sorry about your daughter! And they kept saying I was too young for this, she was 7?! Thank God she made it!

Thank you for your loving support Cheryl. I'm forever grateful.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) I am feeling better, thanks so much! Still adjusting to being home after all I was through in the hospital and have little "chores" to do because of the kidney drain still being in. Scheduled my test for 7/22 and that's when the tube should come out. At that point my doctor's will decide if I need physical therapy to help me regain strength (it's likely I'll need it). Takes me to the end of July at least!

As for answers, it's doubtful there are any true ones. It just seems that my immune system was very very (very!) low and coincidentally I happened to be passing some kidney stones at the same time which lowered my immunity even more allowing the usual bacteria in urine to become infected and get out of control. I was hours away from 'going septic' (meaning the infection was close to getting into my blood) and if that happened, I'd either be in the hospital for a Very long time or it's more likely I would have died because I just don't have the immune system to help me fight that kind of infection which can be deadly for a healthy person.

Cheryl S. | 3501 comments Take good care of yourself and even though the weather in your area has been intolerable at times I hope you can still enjoy your garden.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) I'm trying on both counts! (Trying really hard, not succeeding at times but still trying!)
