Eric Gardner | 1 comments Is there a way to get book recommendations from this site ala netflix? Why rate all these books if they all of my stats can't be amassed into a database which will suggest one book after another specifically targeted at my interests?

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 2400 comments Eric,

Well it would be wonderful, if it was done well. I never get particularly good recommendations from either Netflix (where I've rated over 900 DVDs) or Amazon (where I've bought a ton of books over the last 2 decades.)

I think one point of rating books here is to show your friends and other members of goodreads and then discovering books new to you from others' ratings. But I enjoy looking at other members' shelves & profiles, and I've found way too many books that way.

Edit: And I just noticed what group I was in.

This might be better for the Goodreads Feedback group:
