Some of the older ones are really the best-- not dissing on the newer ones cause a bunch of those are amazing too, but yeah. And then you get into them (cause most have a lot of chapters) and you reach the end, but it's not the finale and the story hasn't been updated in a couple years... :( It kinda sucks.

That's what I use goodreads for, other than interacting with you guys. It's an easy place to keep track of books.

The first thing that come to mind is how I feel sorry & oh my gosh poor kids.... basically the same thing as Kate

I just want to be able to scoop them up and tell them it's going to be okay, and that people aren't going to give them weird looks or say things to them that are hurtful. I want to be able to give them a free surgery to correct the clefts.

Thanks, guys! As Irene said, all these kids were born with Cleft Lips (and- maybe) Palates, just as I was. (My baby picture is pretty much a combo of #'s 4&5). and every one of these kids was given a FREE surgery to repair their clefts, Operation Smile is a BRILLIANT organization that gives kids in 3rd World countries the operations who wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise.
And if you don't mind, I'd like to use your responses in my project. I'll only name you if you have no objections-- I'm nice like that. (I'd use first name only. [And I only know Nat's last name anyways])

Good for them. (Operation Smile that is) It's always awful when kids in poorer places can't get medical aid that we take for granted.

Kate- some of them were older and teased so horribly. I've been teased for looking different because of my cleft, even though mine's been repaired since the doctors deemed i was old enough/healthy enough and that was within my first year of life- 1st 6 months I think. (it isnt all that noticable, look at picture 3b, you can barely tell that it's there)

Yeah, that's why I feel sorry to them too (well another reason). They have to go though life being picked on and bullied and calked nasty and hateful things because they are different.

People can be so mean sometimes. Especially once the clefts repaired, you can barely see it. And the thing is that while it's a medical issue, there are a lot of times when it really doesn't look that bad and doesn't even "warrant" teasing, although people are still jerks and do.
