Kate | 8205 comments Rae-only rather amusing?

*points out Ron's acceptance of Twizzlers in AVPM*

message 2952: by asiyah (new)

asiyah WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!
In the cupboard under some stairs.

Fine Nat. I'm always right. And I didn't procrastinate on my essay!*does happy dance*

message 2953: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Bahaha. That's great. Your poor friend, that must have been nerve-wracking.

But, you guys can buy off Macs? Lucky! I wish I had a deal like that. *Sigh*

message 2954: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Kate- Okay, okay. I was downplaying it a bit. It's generally downright hilarious!

Kyle- Well, the teacher probably should've been more attentive... I would've had the student show me the app before I went off on him like that.

That's really cool, so when you graduate, you'll already have a nice laptop paid for and you know how it works and such for university! (or college for the Americans confused, cause while here in Amurica we call school after HS college, I know that at least in England they say University, It means the same thing but yeah. XD)

message 2955: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid In Canada we say University too, but we understand the word College. I guess we kind of use both.

message 2956: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments I think it might just be yet another thing that makes Americans like me different from the rest of the world- simply for being American.

message 2957: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) I'm in the US and we use both, University normally meaning state funded or govenment funded and College noramlly meaning private or privatly funded by the community. Alot of people use them interchangably though so who knows *shrugs*

message 2958: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Yeah, true. where I live, it's always referred to as 'college', though.

message 2959: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) It depends, normally I say I will be going to college if asked weter I will be or not but when refering to a specific one it depends on the name.

message 2960: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments For the most part in the US, undergraduate education is referred to as college. A university is a school that offers both undergraduate and post-graduate degrees.

Yeah, that's pretty sweet. Very smart, too.

You are INSANE!

I only Tweet to people. You, or a HP/SK person...

I usually say college, but occasionally university.

message 2962: by [deleted user] (new)

gahhh can we stop talking about college? i don't want to think about it

message 2963: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Sorry, how about holiday foods?

message 2964: by asiyah (new)

asiyah My dad brought fruitcake, and this is the first time I've ever actually seen fruitcake. I'm gonna have it after dinner and I hope it's good.

message 2965: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) I only like my grandmother's fruit cake, just because it is moist and soft, and it tastes really really good.

message 2966: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Moist and soft? We're talking about fruitcake? Is that not an oxymoron?

I like fruit tarts though.

message 2967: by Whitney :) (new)

Whitney :) (wvn1998) | 1808 comments I hav a band concert this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 2968: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Ugh. Fruit cake. I do not like. My mom made a delicious cake for supper though. No wheat and no sugar, but it was AMAZING. Ah... *Drools*

message 2969: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Nat- Well, I try and tweet great things. If I didn't get annoyed by the people who updated their facebook status's every five minutes, most of my tweets would end up status's. In other words-- I'm just that awesome.

Way- No wheat and no sugar? Sounds intriguing!

message 2970: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Well, it is sugar substitute made of birch and the wheat is made of almond.

message 2971: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Oh, okay. Substitutes are good- we've had to learn a lot of the milk substitutes since my older sister is EXTREMELY lactose intolerant.

message 2972: by Irene (new)

Yes, but my grandmother's fruitcake is moist, soft, and delicious!

Irene (wingdesilverii) Way-chan (Aspiring Author) wrote: "Well, it is sugar substitute made of birch and the wheat is made of almond."

That sounds really good actually

message 2974: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid It was really delicious! It tasted almost exactly like normal chocolate cake, it was just a little less sweet and much healthier.

message 2975: by Giulia (new)

Giulia | 246 comments woah woah woah WOAH! I spend ONE night at a friend's house, and I come back to a whole page of new comments!!! you guys have been busy busy busy. Haha kyle i was reading your post when i got to the goodness gracious me bit, and i thought you'd gone mad (i know, my memory isn't exactly great). BTW LOVE the take a hike thing. I should start saying that (take it as a form of flattery). Didn't really understand the reference to Stephenie Meyer though. :S
I had a mac for the whole of this year, but I had to return it cause I'm leaving (after only one year, I know). It was extremely sad. I spent whole weeks converting all the files to windows format so my laptop could read them. I even had iProcrastinate for a while, but i didn't end up using it.

Rebekah *StarGleek*Potterhead* wrote: "Oh, okay. Substitutes are good- we've had to learn a lot of the milk substitutes since my older sister is EXTREMELY lactose intolerant."
When I opened the page, the first thing I saw was the first half of this comment, and assumed we were talking about relief teachers (how more far off could i BE??), which reminded me that i HATE relief teachers. well that was totally random and unnecessary.

message 2976: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) ^ substitutes can make a class room miserable if people can't behave like mature high schoolers and then there's a fight and you have to make sure you don't get caught in the middle.

message 2977: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Subs can be fun, but it can be really terrible. My health teacher this year is actually a gym teacher, so yesterday when she wasn't there, we had one of the really awkward gym subs. We are currently learning about the male and female reproductive systems, safe sex, etc. NOT something you want to learn from the girls JV basketball coach.

message 2978: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Never had fruitcake...

Hahaha, Kate...

I just thought I should say that I realized that my Pre-AP history teacher puts our rank in the class on Edline. I'm # 1 out of 28... Pretty proud of myself but also kinda confused.. Actually no, not really. I'm just really happy.

message 2979: by Giulia (new)

Giulia | 246 comments wow...

a part of me is secretely hoping you got that list off the internet and did not just spend your whole day counting repetitive things in twilight (please tell me you didn't!).
But it made me smile. When I was reading twilight, i only realised how much the phrase 'deja vu' was mentioned. I swear bella had a moment of deja vu at least once a day. I didn't LOVE twilight, it was ok.

well done Nat!!! Kate: Awkward!
Some relief teachers are good, especially when you hate your normal teacher. But my day is ruined when one of my favourite teachers is away.

message 2980: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Yes, well done Natalie! And I'm not asking about the twilight list, the books were okay but I don't think they are a reread more than once or twice books (at the most). And Giulia, I do agree. My day was pretty good, then my two favorite teachers were out and my great day went *poof*

WHERE?! I can't find it.

The fruitcake was good. I put a bunch of whipped cream on it, which helped a lot.

message 2983: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Everything's better with whipped cream.

What's Edline?

message 2984: by asiyah (new)

asiyah Lol, everything is.

Edline's a website that Nat and my school district uses to post grades.

message 2985: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Aaahhhhh...we use Infinite Campus. And one teacher uses blackboard, which is where all the teacher websites are, but the report cards and everything are through Infinite.

message 2986: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) We use Infinite Campus too

message 2987: by Whitney :) (new)

message 2988: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) It's a site where your parents get a password to login and check your grades whenever they want. I have my parents password so I can see my grades.

message 2989: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments The public schools where I live use Edline, but my school (one of the private ones cause I'm that cool) uses something else-- and we just switched to it so I have no idea what it is or anything.

message 2990: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments We have access to our own Infinite Campus accounts, although we didn't in middle school. (Our username is aour school id, and our password is our birthday, so it's pretty hard not to be able to)

Our report cards go through Infinite Campus. They also use it to make the schedules, take attendance, and a lot of other administrative things that I don't know about.

message 2991: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Oh, our accounts aren't set up that way and we can see all our grades for each class and what classes we have the next semester. Our report cards get mailed out too, since all parents may not beable to check online.

message 2992: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Yeah, we can see our grades and stuff too. They used to give us the report cards in school, but they stopped doing that once they started using Infinite Campus, because there was always the risk of kids losing them (accidentally or on purpose), and the issue of confidentiality. I don't know why they don't just mail them like they did in middle/elementary school.

message 2993: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) They still mail ours out to our parents so I don't see my actual report card until it comes in the mail.

message 2994: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Got it.

message 2995: by [deleted user] (new)

good job! I have no idea when I'm supposed to get mine but i really don't want to

message 2996: by [deleted user] (new)

Because I hate having to think that reminder that I still have to go to school once my break is over and that it'll be cold and wet and gross.

message 2997: by kento (new)

message 2998: by Giulia (new)

Giulia | 246 comments kyle: high five, me too!! but it is not very hard to get an A, especially at my school.
i don't think australian schools even have anything like infinite campus or edline (back me up here kyle). i would just feel a bit awkward to know that anyone could check ALL my grades at any time if they had the login details, which wouldn't be hard to get (referring to kate's answer) if they went to my school and knew my birthday.

message 2999: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments By school ID, I meant student ID. Nobody else knows that, although it wouldn't be THAT hard, I guess, since we also type themin for our lunch code.

message 3000: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) They are your GTID, the last few digits of it and they are pretty hard to figure out. And I made an A+ in my physics class! (I hated that class, the teacher couldn't teach)
