Ingrid The circle my family runs in, is a very conservative, demure, shy etc....
If I acted like I do here, or broadcast the books I enjoy and all that, well, they wouldn't be giving me strange looks. They'd be lecturing me and telling my parents that they need to look after me more.

message 2702: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Oh, I get it. I'm sorry.

But we're here to talk with your crazy side!

message 2703: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid It's fine.

Thanks guys for letting me be crazy!

message 2704: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments We would all have a problem if we couldn't be crazy.

message 2705: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid True, true.

Random side note that isn't completely random: I ordered the first two books in the Percy Jackson series from the library.

message 2706: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Taylor- That really sucks. I'm sort of in that kind of situation- my school is TINY and so regardless of if you don't like someone, if they're in your grade, you'll see them every day for at least a period.

Kate- That's really great. My two best friends and i are like that- we take each other at face value and are our crazy selves with each other.

Way- Oh wow, that's insane.

message 2707: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I sort of know what you mean, Taylor, because my Honors math class and Latin only have one section each, and AP European History has two, which means that a LOT of people in those classes are also in my others for scheduling reasons. Luckily, we all get along (and Latin is the weirdest class of all), but if we didn't there would really be a problem.

And Way, that is very good news.

message 2708: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Well, here's one example of the problems it creates: In my AP Gov class, we have pretty much every single AP/Honors student who's a senior. We had a mock trial thing where we split into teams and debated, and there were judges for each pair of teams. The judge for the teams I was a part of was an ex girlfriend of a guy on the opposing team. Every time he spoke, she scribbled something down. While my team's argument had been completely B-Sed five minutes before class, the other team had a well-constructed, valid argument. But my team still won. Even though we agreed to forfeit because we sincerely disagreed with the verdict.

Later on? The ex girlfriend judge made the comment that the other team never could have won, because her ex boyfriend was on it. He's one of the smartest people in the class. So, yeah. Problem.

message 2709: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Taylor- Wow, sounds like a case of bias and clouded judgment. That really does sound unfair and not like a good environment.

Denice, you can post anything, but it would be nice if it followed suit with the topic at the time and doesn't mess up the flow.

message 2710: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Rae, luckily that's one of the extreme cases, but it's still lame when it happens.

message 2711: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Uh, I'm Way, but yes it is a bit extreme.
You like to think people and put aside their own personal experiences if they'll participate in such a contest.
For my debates, the judges weren't allowed to know the members of either team previously.

message 2712: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Taylor- Yeah, I see what you mean. That's a bit insane. Although I think the teams/judges should've been better planned out. Because that probably could've been avoided. (From what I'm understanding.)

Denice- like Way said, you can technically post anything, but we tend to keep a conversation going so it'd be nice if your comments would be something related to what the current topic is.

message 2713: by Whitney :) (new)

Whitney :) (wvn1998) | 1808 comments ......

message 2714: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I don't think it was a real debate, Way. Just a class activity.

message 2715: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Haha, Hi Whitney!

Way- it just was a mock trial. You're given some information for each side and then you come up with arguments.

message 2716: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Mock trial or not, it feels like maybe a teacher or someone could have judged, but just my own personal opinion. I'm one of those competitive people who gets way into these kind of things and wants everything to be fair and orderly.

message 2717: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Way, I'm sorry, I have no idea why I did that. Whoops.

Anywho. Don't get me started on the way that class is run... It gets ridiculous.

message 2718: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Way and Rae rhyme, I guess.....

Not the best class, Taylor?

message 2719: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments It's fine. I didn't even realize it until you caught yourself, Taylor. (Imagine if you went by "Tay" on here... And we get confused with just Way and me!)

That sounds pretty crazy. I'm guessing its not that great?

message 2720: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Don't even think about doing that, Taylor.

message 2721: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid You know, it could be fun having Taylor become a Tay...
*Evil smile*

Heya, Tay!

message 2722: by Whitney :) (new)

Whitney :) (wvn1998) | 1808 comments I feel like I'm just joining randomly & getting in the way

message 2723: by Giulia (new)

Giulia | 246 comments whitney: haha, yeah me too.

but reading previous things, sounds pretty unfair about the mock trial thing. I totally get what you mean Way, I'm like that too, always complaining how things aren't fair, but everyone just says stuff like 'life isn't fair'

message 2724: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Wihtney and Giulia- Nah! Don't worry about it! YOu comment when you can. Tay, Way, Kate and I are all crazy posters with oodles of time on our hands (Well, except for Tay this year)

*looks up at beginning of post* Way! You've got me doing it now too!

message 2725: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Don't even think about calling her Tay for an extended period of time. I might go crazy.

message 2726: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Kate- I will too...most likely.

message 2727: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

message 2728: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Haha of course, we need to take into account how crazy I already am- just ask Nat. I apparently am really crazy because of one of my tweets this morning.

message 2729: by Whitney :) (new)

Whitney :) (wvn1998) | 1808 comments Yea, I try to get on a lot but it doesn't seem to happen much.

message 2730: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Everyone has different schedules- it's nothing against any of you for having other things to do than comment in this group.

message 2731: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Believe me, I think every single one of us has had that problem for at least short periods of time.

message 2732: by Ingrid (last edited Nov 05, 2011 11:16AM) (new)

Ingrid Yup! I was gone for at least a month at one point.

*Whispered in a nagging voice* Tay... Tay...

message 2733: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Really Way?

message 2734: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Taylor wrote: "I like it cuz hardly anyone I know personally uses it. It means I can say what I want without a crap ton of questions."

I know nobody, so yes, I definatly agree. Tumblr? Friends. Here? Friends? Facebook...well... And message me too!!

And I forgot....but I've officially known y'all for a year now. :') Well, most of you.

HAHAHAHA. Yes. She is. She has five minutes to get ready. And she was Tweeting. Yes, yes, you were in the car... but they way you put it... ;)

I was pretty close to Way..... And we haven't had awards yet, have we?

message 2736: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Kate wrote: "Not the best class, Taylor?"

No, it's not. I kind of yelled in the middle of it on Thursday cuz no one would shut up and I was super frustrated. And the teacher goes, "Well that was unnecessary." Yes, it was, because YOU AREN'T DOING YOUR JOB. It wouldn't be necessary if you were! >:(

Anywho. :) Hehe, Way Rae Tay! I like it. And I'm off to post the list right now, hold please.

message 2737: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Lists are up!

message 2738: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Exciting!

In six grade we were doing group work, and two of the kids would not pay attention, and so I lost it and yelled at them. The teacher was angry at them not me, fr the fact that I had to yell. I like my teacher better I guess.

message 2739: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Yeah, I had that problem this summer- I was getting into so many different things that I shoved GR to the side.

*Krayonder* WOAH! Tay's posting the list ON TIME? What is this???
Taylor- yeah, I hate teachers who can't teach/control their class/don't do anything about the trouble makers.

Nat- At least i DID wait until I got into the car before tweeting. Ya gotta give me that.

message 2740: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Rae-What did you say?

message 2741: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Kate- My tweet? *looks up exact tweet* "That moment when you're running around the house like a chicken with its head cut off cause your ride will be there in 5 and ya just woke up" (YOu should be appreciative I apparently tweet a lot so I had to go back pretty far to find this...from Friday morning. XD )

message 2742: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Wow.....

I think that if I had a twitter account I would follow you.

message 2743: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Hahaha, Aww! i feel so special now!

message 2744: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I'm glad.

message 2745: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments XD Yay!

message 2746: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Of course, my lack of twitter account might mess that up, but still.
