It's a Saturday night I don't blame you whatsoever.

I'm great! It's been a long day, I served at a homeless shelter with my youth group this morning (and had almost an hour long conversation with a guy who spoke no English #4yearsofspanishpayingoff) and babysat this evening. And I'm going to see some friends who moved away tomorrow! The guy in the family is my brother's best friend and he won the VFW contest for his state and is coming to DC for nationals, hence them being here (ugh I got second place for my state just one more place and I would be competing against him xD)

Veterans of Foreign Wars. They host a Voice of Democracy audio essay contest every November. American high schoolers that enter have to write and record themselves reading a patriotic essay. The essay competes at the following levels: post, district, state, national. I won first place state, first place district, and second place state. I'll be going to a couple award ceremonies in March and I think I'll get some scholarship money which will be nice. :D
