*ahem* My own personal guide to socialising: 1. Breathe evenly 2. Smile engagingly (helps to disguise panic and calm yourself), 3. Look them in the face, 4. Try and make connections to continue the conversation (my aunt had a pet lizard once! what sort was yours?) 5. Ask tons of questions! 6. Fake it til you make it.
