If you take away the music, Uptown Funk is about a vain, arrogant, self-centered guy who objectifies women and expects them to fall at his feet.
And have you seen the music video?? Every time he sings, "girls hit your hallelujah" it shows girls walking across the screen, but their head is cropped out. It is dehumanizing. Obviously they are no more than sexual objects.
And I have not even talked about the language, or close equivalents that you know what they actually mean.
This is all disgusting and repulsive. So, I don't really care if it is catchy.

For me, I basically just ignore the lyrics and enjoy a good dance to it now and again. It's definitely not a great song...


That's a good position to have!!! I never really gave it much thought before. It seems most songs I hear nowadays beyond the Christian radio is kind of disrespectful in some regard.
