Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy) I've been laughing myself into insanity over this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWSIFh...

I almost feel sorry for the X-Box One. Almost.

They dug their own grave.

Well, Paige and I were getting sponsors to give us a certain amount of money each hour we work (5 hours) to raise money so the cost would go down for camp and a missions trip that Paige is going on (I'm only going to camp. And all the money is donated to an organization called Speed the Light which helps missionaries. There was something that the youth group that we go to on wednesday night was doing for the 5 hours, but it was the last day of german school that day and we didn't want to miss it. So we picked up trash around our neighborhood. Paige did it last year too. I didn't because I was going to kids camp (ages 8-12) instead of youth camp (ages 13-not sure what age).

Elevetha | 11058 comments Oh. How much did you make/earn/whatever?

message 8381: by Briana (new)

Briana (brianals) | 15203 comments Mod
For me... I'm pretty sure I got around $210 (so about $42 an hour) for the whole five hours, and I'm not sure what Paige got.

There are lots of authors on this site ... if you search up their name, you'll find them. If their name has an asterisk next to it, it means they have a Goodreads account. As for recommendations, what do you like to read?

message 8386: by [deleted user] (new)

This will probably go on forever until people dont really care

Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy) I recommend Cinder and Scarlet! Both are wicked cool YA novels that are sci-fi fairy tale retellings. Very neat. And the author is so nice! After I sent a friend request to her and told her how much I liked her books, she sent a very sweet PM back.

YES.

That and Leviathan. Steampunk alternate history/universe WWI.

message 8393: by Marlene (last edited Jun 13, 2013 04:41PM) (new)

Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy)

I second Leviathan.

message 8394: by Elevetha (new)

Elevetha | 11058 comments Excellent!

Ooh, and The Scorpio Races. Bloodthirsty horses from the sea!!!!!!!!!! Um, a race on a tiny island.

message 8395: by Marlene (new)

Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy) Booyah for The Scorpio Races! And Wonderstruck! Poignant novel about deaf culture, loneliness, and family told partly in words and partly in pictures. Absolutely beautiful.
