Anyway, on a better note, I figure this would be the time and GREAT PLACE where to reveal I've actually been reading a good vampire book series. It's not too well known, but from what I've been reading it should because it's pretty awesome! It's several books under A Novel of the Darkyn by Lynn Viehl, and after reading If Angels Burn by her, honest to god it's something completely different! For one, I have to say I'm the average guy who's a major comic nerd, and with most vampire stories these days nothing really attracts me to them unless it's the original Bram Stoker deal or Dusk Till Dawn with George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino; or the orginal Lost Boys. LOL But as I read it, it's something that takes the original content and respect of most vampire folk tales and what every average person knows about them and twists it in a way that makes it accurate to modern society and very fresh into a new take of these fictional beings; and to a very strong degree, very believable. For instance, the story I'm reading is basically about this highly appraised reconstructive surgeon named Alexandra Keller who lives in Chicago and is abducted by a man named Michael Cyprien, a billionaire in New Orleans, and is doing so in order to reconstruct his face. Oddly enough though, the catch comes into play because Michael is what the author calls one of the Darkyn, which to us is basically a vampire with a few differences, and he goes through such because with a hot headed monster like Alex, not too many people would believe his subtle behaviors and diagnosis would reveal him as a vampire; more or less, stating he is one without wearing a straight jacket. LOL On the same note, Michael needs someone fast and highly trained to construct his face again due 1.) Has a very quick healing factor and 2.) The only thing that can even puncture their skin is with anything made of copper; like I said, very different. LOL I won't reveal how his face got to being such a mess to the degree of nearly having one but of scars and mouth hole, but on the side, Alex's brother Father John, a catholic priest and nearly despised link to Alexandra, is relocated to an old and withheld Templar order to go off and kill all members of the Darkyn. So when both sides of the story, including another side with the antagonists view in the novel, it all collides into a very well written climax and goes several boundaries that most vampire books go. And coming from a guy like me, it's a rare site to see. And I love this series for so many things, mainly because it pushes to the adult range with a high amount of language, violence, and sex (including rape) and in every book it's about a different person; so you can nearly start anywhere and everywhere, and you won't really get confused which ever one comes into play first. Lynn Viehl is a very imaginative and adequate writer, and has surpassed to bring viewers something crisp and vibrant to the world of vampire stories; or at least since Anne Rice. LOL Whether your a Twilight Fan, or a Twilight Hater like me, you should drop all of this wanna-be vampire Stephanie Meyer crap and start reading a decent series like A Series of the Darkyn, anything from Anne Rice like Interview with the Vampire or Queen of the Damned, Bram Stoker's masterpiece Dracula, anything that doesn't sparkle and goes against this precious planet we have to invest with.

And being the panning critic I am, it's my soul duty to put anything Twilight to flames!!! Call me the Critique Nazi if you have to, and I'll be like Hitler and start a movie and book burning of anything Twilight or Stephanie Meyer. Others here, I hope you agree with me, take my advice, and spread the word. This has been your friend informing you to live life to the fullest and to read NOT JUST ANY BOOK, but a GOOD ONE.
Warmest Reguards,
Robbie
