((sorry! i'll skim it, so we can continue))Carolyn scanned the horizon. Her sharp eyes did not detect any "forest" the krisalidi could have showed Chase.
In the back of her mind she remembered a place that fit his description. A place that had become myth, almost legend; A place where none ventured and where few had been.
"Maybe..." she whispered."What?" Chase asked.
"I think I may know about a place we can look. You said this forest looks tropical?"
"Well, kinda a cross between tropical & a normal forest."
Carolyn nodded, "We need to get to a town, and see if we can find any maps."
Chase pointed out across the plains, "It looks like someone's coming. Maybe they'll give us a ride to the next town." there was a cloud of dust coming across the grass toward them.
when it got there it turned out to be a farmer with his family, driving a series of three wagons. When a tired and dirty looking boy and girl came running up to them through the grass, the farmer didn't know what to think. "Please sir," the girl asked, "Do you know where the nearest town is?""We're kinda lost." the boy added.
((thanks for re-joining then! savannah))the farmer looked at the two kids and wondered why they would be out here on this remote road, the only way to the capitol, without knowing where they were.
"I suppose ya all could hitch a ride." he said eventually. The two kids looked so relieved that the farmer pitied them. He gestured over his shoulder to the mostly full cart. Chase and Carolyn sat down an the farmers bags of potatoes and corn and fell asleep instantly. The city was in sight when they woke up.
((Um this one a kid kinda gets trapped in this dream world and meets several differnt magic peoples. They are fighting against the humans because the humans who -like him- have fallen into this dream world want to get out and think the magic peoples are keeping thim there. Chase and Carolyn are on a quest looking for a book that may help them to send those who want to go, back home.I really suggest you read this, because there's a bunch of stuff I haven't even touched in this post like Nerisa and Cosa or whatever their names were I can't ever remember that elf's name! and the krisalidi and whatever it was called that Rencor used to control the krisalidi as well. And Rencor I didn;t say anyting about him either... he's the dictator- I guess we could say- of the human army.))
((awesome summary DragonEyed, I will also read the story over the next few days, let's see if we can revive it, eh?))
((do you think she will hear if we post her name here...oh Kataury come and post here , will you? ;0) ))
((*yells at top of voice*
KATAURY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
))
((well it was going good for a while. I think what basically happened, is when people go to sleep, every once in a while there are people who are pulled through their dreams into this world. Because of this dream magic, the people who go to this world are new beings, so they have to choose what they want to be, whether they stay a human, or become something different is up to them. Another complication of this magic was that war was started. The humans believe that the magic people know how to send them home and aren't doing it. So, led by a man named Rencor (who may not even be human after all) are attacking the magic people in an effort to force them to send them back home.Chase comes into the story in a rather bad place. There is an important conversation going on, and Chase happens to overhear it. When the basic principle of how he came to this world was explained to him, he's not sure what to do. Then when Rencor showed up with men with weapons following him, Chase decided that he didn't like what the humans were doing and decided on what he was going to be in this world. A shape shifter.
Chase and Carolyn, a nymph, got sent on a quest of sorts to find a book that would apparently give them a way to send the humans back to their world like they wanted to be. Hopefully sending them back would end the war. (but we don't actually know that because Rencor may not be human and if he isn't there must be some reason he's leading a war against the other Magic Prople) Some things happen to Chase and Carolyn along the way, including meeting Rencor and the inn they were staying at being destroyed.
The creature Cosa and Nerida the elf (a fairly important person to the magic side of the war) were off doing their own thing, I'm pretty sure it was spying of some sort, but they got caught, and the humans thought that they killed them, when in fact they were badly injured, but still alive.
That's pretty much a summery of everything so far, and I'm not really sure what's going on with Nerida and Cosa, but Chase and Carolyn are trying to get to this tropical looking forest to find this mysterious book.
((awesome story now that you explained it, i couldn't even read beyond the first page :( so why is the book important? or do we know that later ))
(I know there was lots of chatting... and some of the stuff doesn't really add up unless you think about it. I really recommend you go to the second page and start there if you have to, because the book is important because of what it might have in it. even though we're not sure if it actually does have the spells that the human's need.))
((Hey go watch this vid! It's a movie trailer! I soooo want to see this movie next month! http://movies.ign.com/dor/objects/800... ))
Chase and Carolyn borrowed two horses fromthe farmer inreturn for two gold coins. They were ready for their trip to the Lost Forest where no one went anymore, it was known as a cursed land, even the natives stayed away from it. Two days after they left, Cosa and Nerida came by to the farmer's place looking for directions. Cosa was getting confused with the scent of all the farm animals and needed a new trail.
"Those kids? oh, yea, We've seen them. Around two days ago, we were comming home from trading in town. They asked where they were and bought our plow horses and left, didn't tell us where they were going though."Nerida thanked him and they left quickly. She and Cosa had both seen the wary looks they were getting from the farmer, and his family that was near enough to see them.
"Do you think they have any kind of a plan yet?" Cosa asked the elf after they had left.
"It would seem so. Now that we know they are safe, at least for the time being, we have our own battles to fight."
"So it's come to that has it?"
"We may actually be fighting a real battle this time around. Valren will probably make his move now that he knows Chase and Carolyn are doing something and because we tried to get into his land. He'll have realized by now that something is going on and he's not the type of person to wait and see what will happen."
Cosa did't say anything to that, he always took Nerida's word for truth. Nerida said,"Let's keep walking, we don't want to be just behind them in case Valren wants a go at them first. Let's circle around the path so we can overtake them" and she walked on towards where they could see the mountain peak rising over the dense forest some distance ahead.
((Cosa and Nerida shouldn't be coming after Chase and Carolyn. At the beginning it said something about the magic book not wanting to be found by them, and that's why it hadn't be found. I'm not sure what made them think that Chase and Carolyn could find it though...))
